It is 1/8/2021 and the last day I was able to drive my Ford Escape it almost killed me and that was October 17, 2020. On October 19, 2020 I called Ford because I had researched it and found out my car had 4 recalls on it that I had no idea about. When I went online at Ford Motor Company to research what could be wrong with my car I found out about the recalls. My car only had 2 previous owners before me and the recalls happened when they owned the vehicle. The 2nd owner who I bought the vehicle from didn't bother to tell me about the recalls. Both previous owners choose to ignore the recalls and not get them fixed. I live 800 miles from Kendall Ford and can't take my car to the dealership to get the repairs. I live on an island in the Aleutian Islands and I can only get to Anchorage by boat or plane so taking my vehicle to a dealership is out of the question. I have been a faithful Ford vehicle person for 51 years since my first car which was a mustang. The way I have been treated over this vehicle and these recalls are making me wonder if I even want to drive a Ford anymore. The recall that almost killed me on October 17th is the throttle getting stuck. I only had to drive a mile & a half to get my car home but my car wanted to go 100 MPH and I hadn't even put my foot on the gas pedal. I was lucky I made it home safely without crashing. I have made lots of phone calls and still don't have my car fixed. Over a month ago Kendall Ford told me they mailed the parts to me to get all 4 recalls fixed. I called again on Wednesday 1/6/2021 and I was told that the tracking # said that the box of parts were delivered to my PO box the week before. In checking with the post office yesterday no box of parts were ever delivered to my post office. When I talked to Kendall Ford on 1/6/2021 I said to please email me the tracking # so I can keep checking it every day. I have not received an email yet. My feeling is that Kendall Ford thinks if they stall me long enough I will just pay for the parts and labor myself to have a car again. I don't have the money for that at all. And why should I pay for it anyway. I can't find a job due to Covid 19 and money is tight right now. I am lucky to have a roof over my head and food on the table. Taking a cab to the grocery store to get groceries each time costs me $30.00 round trip. That's expensive! Ford should be helping me out on this. It's too hard for me to get by in this town without a running vehicle. I was out looking for a job when this happened and I haven't been able to really get out and continue looking for a job without a vehicle. There's too much ice and snow out there to be walking everywhere. I am now wondering if it is time to give up on Kendall Ford and get an attorney.
