Clean professional and my salesperson was great. - Romans81prisonministries
Clean professional and my salesperson was great. He listened to my needs. I was in the business for close to 40 years. Many salespeople in the past just go with their agenda when I try and make the sale easier for them. Away did what he had to do but respected I was in the business. He and the manager assisted me putting the deal together
I bought my RAV4 in 2016 and bought over $2,000 worth of - msanchez1228
I bought my RAV4 in 2016 and bought over $2,000 worth of warranty, which included dent protection. I called and spoke with Chris to confirm that dents were covered under my warranty. He told me yes and to bring the car in to make sure it met the qualifications. I brought it in thru the service station and they again confirmed that yes it would be covered and had me make appointment to bring the car in and they told me that it should only take 45 min to max 2 hours. I made the appointment for the following week and came in at 8am. After 3 hours of waiting, the service guy came in and tried to say this is going to take another 3-4 hours and that they didn’t realize it was going to take this long and tried to say I would need a rental. Then a half hour later, the same service guy came out and said your warranty is expired and it’s not even going to be covered. So then why did the warranty guy said it was covered and why did service say it was covered and why the xxxx did they have me wait over 3 hours. In that 3 hour time all they did was replace the light bulb for the fog light that I had asked them to replace— that they had the audacity to charge me $48 for. They clearly can’t read or do their jobs competently and don’t care about their customers.
Had a flat tire. I have Tire Protection Warranty sold to... - wolf357_61
Had a flat tire. I have Tire Protection Warranty sold to me by Toyota. Made an appointment to get the tire fixed. A nail in the tread, a simple fix with a patch or plug. As soon as Bruce Williams Service Consultant looks at the tire I immediately need a new tire. Of course they are out of stock for my 2020 Rav4. So he orders a new one. When I asked for the old tire back oh no it's a core, oh no it's you going back grabbing the tire and putting a plug in it and reselling it. A week later I come for the tire install and 20,000 mile checkup and I sit in the waiting room over 2 hours, nobody talks to me, no coffee no water nothing oh you can buy that stuff but nothing out for the customer. Now I called my warranty company as soon as I got the flat, so they already had the complaint in the computer just have Hertrich call with the policy number. Finally they call me back to service and proceed to tell me I have to pay for the tire out of my pocket. Some B/S about not getting paid. So until I paid for the tire they would not release my vehicle. Not much I can do I pay for the tire. When I get the receipt and look at it there is an authorization number on the receipt. The warranty company was paying for it. So now the warranty company is going to send the check to the dealership and I'm out $280. I was able to contact the company and stop payment and have it redirected to me but can you imagine what I would have to go through to get my money back !!!!!! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with and it is my last. PS after all that they did not put the spare tire tools away.
Other than buying parts, I haven't even been a customer - CarGuy
Other than buying parts, I haven't even been a customer (thank goodness) and have been routinely disgusted by this organization when forced to call them. And as they say, the fish rots from the head.
Before buying a Lexus (elsewhere), they told me they service them all with no problem. So, I bought it thinking I wouldn't need to drive to Wilmington from Dover for service. Turns out they don't, so I began servicing it myself as much as possible. That was the first lie, which I also called to reconfirm in advance, from the service dept.
Even their generic Toyota parts are outrageously priced, so I order everything over the phone from Lexus dealers, who actually charge much, much less than CF Schwartz, and then actually ship them to me at no additional cost. I've had some complaints about some Lexus service departments, but Lexus parts departments know customer service and are fantastic in every respect.
Never mind the rudeness of their service dept., CF Schwartz seems to specialize in shady practices and price gouging. They recently lit their huge sign to say "we will service your Lexus", so I called to inquire and find out what changed. Nope, nothing has changed. They can't do anything more on any Lexus than on anything else, from a Chevy or Honda to a Jaguar, Audi, or Bugatti. They also told me they can't warranty Lexus parts that source even though Lexus is Toyota Corporation. So, why specify "Lexus", if not simply to deceive, xxxx off, and waste a lot of people's time? They can't do anything more than Jiffy Lube or Pep Boys, who probably even have more scruples than CF Schwartz. And of course, when I called with optimism, the service dept was rude, said they hadn't seen their own illuminated sign, and rudely hung up on me (par for the course there).
Even to buy a simple bolt, I'll never do business with this organization and steer everyone far from them. They're among the worst of the worst, and I'm not mentioning the stories I've heard from others who have actually bought and serviced vehicles there. I also worked in the industry many years ago and the industry was more ethical then than this organization is today.
Decent service but prices are outrageously high - katekebo
I moved to Delaware from Ohio about a year ago. I had my two Toyotas serviced three times at C.F. Schwartz in Dover, DE. The quality of the service was OK, with reasonable waiting time. But the prices are outrageously high, running at least 2x higher than my previous dealer in Cincinnati, OH. Some examples:
- oil & filter change: $80 at C.F. Schwatrz, $35 at Performance Toyota in Fairfield, OH
- brake service (new pads, resurface rotors): $600 at C.F. Schwartz, $200 at Performance Toyota
Basically every other service I asked about is 2x or more compared to my previous dealer.
I guess C.F. Schwartz gets away with this being the only Toyota dealer in Dover, so customers don't have much chance to compare prices and select a more competitive dealer.
