⚠️ Warning: Scam Dealership ⚠️ Autosense Salem is extremely dishonest and deceptive. They gave me a fake Carfax report, tampered with the odometer readings, and even forged my signature on documents without my consent. To make matters worse, they use thick oils in vehicles to temporarily hide engine noises. The staff was also aggressive and pressured me into making a down payment. Unfortunately, I was scammed by them. I strongly urge anyone considering this dealership or its affiliates to stay far away.

I thought the guys were nice at this dealership, but my overall experience was very disappointing. I was interested in one of their vehicles and came close to buying it. I don't live nearby, but my kids had a basketball tournament during the weekend that was 30 minutes away, so we had planned on me bringing in my trade to have it appraised, and so I could look at their vehicle if time permitted. I found out on my way there that the owner's wife was driving the vehicle I was interested in for the weekend. I was a little annoyed, but whatever! I still had my truck appraised and worked out numbers. I had a pre- approval from my bank, but Motor City was going to see if if they could get me a better rate. I left while they worked on that, because I had to get back to the basketball tournament for the next game. By mid day on Monday I hadn't heard anything, so I reached out to check in on the status of everything. I received a response later in the day that I got approved, but it had no addional details. I replied asking what the terms were, but didn't hear back. It's now late afternoon on Tuesday, so I call to find out that my bank offered better options. I asked them to send me the purchase and sale, and I would get out of work early and head to my bank. He said he would send it right over at 3:45pm, but I was soon arriving to the bank at 4:30pm, and still hadn't received anything. I was getting nervous because the bank closes at 5pm. I call again and it is finally sent. I immediately forward it to the loan officer, not thinking to look, because we had alreay finalized the numbers while I was there, and I was rushing to get everything done before the bank closed. When signing the paperwork with the bank, I realized my trade wasn't included. Apparently, the "old purchase and sale agreement" was sent on accident, but I never worked the deal without my trade, so not sure where this old one came from. I asked if they would still buy my truck, and they said no. Furthermore, even after all this, they were not willing to bring the vehicle to me, so I would have to now find someone to take me down there. The bank was unable to redo the deal with the trade, because it would then make my LTV too high. I had previously missed out on a deal at another dealership on a vehicle that was the same year, make, model, and about the same miles, which was overall $1,500 less, so this makes sense. I wasted so much time and energy for all this to happen. I feel like the transparency at this dealership is unsettling. I worked in the car industry for many years and this is not how I operated. If you are looking for an honest dealership, try one of the McGee Dealerships. I know for a fact that this wouldn't happen over there, and I think I won't venture away from them again. Most dealership are like this, sadly! I thought these guys were different, but I guess I was wrong. P.S. I should have read through all these reviews before I went there. When looking at their responses, it is clear that they take absolutely no accountability for anything, and are extremely defensive when anything is brought to their attention. This should serve as a red flag for everyone. I previously mentioned McGee, look at their responses to their negative reviews. Examples: How can we make your experience better?, I'm sorry this happened. How can we help?, etc. It actually made me uncomfortable reading Motor City's responses. I am now curious what their response will be to this and what excuse will be used this time around.

Bought an suv from them. Within a few weeks the check engine light came on, as well as the tire monitor. I brought it back and paid 100’s of dollars to have it repaired by Paul. Not only did it take almost 2 weeks to get repaired (time I went without a vehicle) but they literally just turned the lights off manually and did not fix anything. Unfortunately this suv has been plagued with expensive repairs ever since. Would never buy there again.

I bought a used car there with lots of miles on it and knew it would need some time and TLC to make it right for me and my daughter but that's how it is when you buy a higher mileage older car. I was in the market for my first car and saw an 05 Chevy cobalt for sale at this dealership so I figured I'd go give it a look. I was checking the tires and the frame for rust, like anyone should do when looking at a used car. I liked the way it looked so I decided to ask for a test drive. The guy gave me an attitude like it was a hassle just to test the car. Before he let me drive the first thing he even bothered to ask was "how are you paying for this today?" I told him that I was testing cars and wasnt sure which I was going to buy but a test drive would help make my decision easier. The a hole then took the keys from me and said "well then go elsewhere. If you came here to kick tires then kick tires but dont ask for a test drive if you aren't going to buy". So I said fine have a nice day and he told me to take my attitude home with me? The dude has mental problems I swear. Do not go to this place. Guaranteed the car was a piece of junk that he was trying to get rid of. Dont let him trick you into buying junk. DO NOT GO HERE.

Solid 5/5 stars. I stopped by on a busy Saturday and was openly told to feel free to look around and check out anything I’d like. Bob was very inviting and incredibly helpful, and Sarah was extremely prompt and pleasant to work with on the financing side. I’ve shopped at some shady used car dealerships in the past, and First City has proven to be the opposite of that. They are very honest and open about their inventory, and made for a very friendly, zero pressure interaction with zero headache.

He and his staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were able to purchase the vehicle we wanted with the help of Laura Stewart one of the sales reps there. It was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone. The process from test drive to finalizing the purchase with the finance manager. They were all so courteous and friendly, it was a great experience!!

This is a cautionary tale of buyer beware, especially for single women. Maybe they have some decent vehicles on their lot, I don’t know for sure. What I do know is that they are well-versed in conducting business with a lot of empathy, exactly because of the business they’re in. Maybe my case was a true anomaly or maybe, just maybe they “saw me coming.” To be fair, the salesman, Sean, did give me paperwork listing “major defects that may occur in used motor vehicles,” and plenty of time to look the vehicle over; I just didn’t know what I needed to be looking for. They got $23000 from me for a van I can’t sell for $7k today, less than six weeks after buying it, because it’s been continuously leaking and drying out on their lot for years. When I drove down to Hudson to see it, it was in the garage and perfectly dry, so it never even crossed my mind to look for leaks. I bought the van on March 19, 2026 and brought it straight to my mechanic’s for transmission service and suspension upgrades. Once again it was garaged and any leaks went unnoticed. I packed it up to go camping this week. I should have known something was up when before I left, chunks of rust just fell out of the bumper (see pics). But off we went, still excited for our trip! My pups and I were napping on our first full day out. It was raining and we were happily snuggled in when all of a sudden rain poured through the edge of sunroof onto us. The carpet by the door was wet. Water pooled under the speaker. As the nightmare unfolded, I had no choice but return home. Yesterday, because it was sunny, I ran a line down all four corners of the sunroof to hopefully unclog any drains that were plugged up. (I can be resourceful if I know what to look for). It’s raining today (Saturday 5/2) so I was able to investigate further, because clearing the drains didn’t seem to work. As I write this, the water is running down the inside of the wall and seeping under the speakers, then onward, down to the floor. I pulled out the cup holder and recorded the water steadily dripping onto the wiring below. I had previously noticed the bolts under the electric bed/bench were rusty but never put 2 and 2 together. I can’t post the video here but there is a lot of rust between the interior panels and the frame. This has obviously been going on for years. The video is evidence of the steady drip, drip, drip. As the widow of a U.S. Marine, I had confided in Sean that I had been taken advantage of several times since my husband died and had all but lost my faith in people to do the right thing. He said he wanted to restore my faith in humanity. All I can say is, SHAME ON ME! I see I still have much to teach my daughters about how people really (really) are. Single women should take extra care to have unforeseen circumstances like mine covered in writing, in any purchase agreement with this company. These are well-seasoned professionals and I find it extremely improbable that after having this vehicle on their lot for literally YEARS, they did not know about it leaking like a sieve and rotting from the inside out. Yes, I did reach out to them. Sean offered a weak “could it be?…” No, no, no. I sent you pictures of the leaking sunroof - what does that have to do with the floor? And since then, I have pulled the cup holder and can see it dripping down the interior wall. That was a couple of days ago… there were no callbacks, no apologies, no resolution, and of course the 30 Day Warranty is up… so it’s just crickets from the good ol’ boys who couldn’t care less that I’m out over $25,000. Update: I found the leak - where the fiberglass roof meets the van body. Now, not only has the CHECK ENGINE light come on for multiple misfiring cylinders, but I have to get the vehicle tested for mold spores, because me and my dogs have symptoms of mold toxicity. Unfortunately, I have nothing else to drive and New England Motor Car has my $23,200. I have filed a complaint with the NH BBB & NH AG

Craig and Joe were great to work with. I live 4.5 hours from the store and out of state, so I found a local independent mechanic to inspect the vehicle for me. They drove the car to the mechanic for the inspection. After the inspection came back good and we finalized the terms of the deal, I still had an opportunity to spend as much time as I needed to inspect and test drive the vehicle after they delivered it and before I paid anything. They issued me a 20 day temp plate and returned the title and sales docs in plenty of time for me to register the vehicle.

Well they used the oldest trick on the books, their trucks are owned by dealer down street that does inspection, and repairs writes up bills to show customer and says they spent a lot of money on getting it in shape , they actually go up in prices to justify their jacked up bills, lol example 1000 dollars for a rear bumper installed when the actual cost was approx 200 bucks, along with their own mechanic applying a state inspection sticker, stay away from them and their sideshow coffy .

Worst Dealer Ever. Deceiving is their caption. Bought a Volkswagen Passat for 2700$ and at the time of purchase I was informed that Car is in very good condition and needs no repair. As a SNHU college student and with broke status I felt good with the car and after 2 hours of purchase my hopes were left in ashes as huge smoke came through the a/c and my spending spree began on the car. It all started with 500$ repairs and the repairs went on. When you start spending some money on the car, you get greedy that it is going to get better after each repair and you go on spending the money. After spending more than 5000$ around (mostly above) just on the repairs,the car is in good shape now but without AC.

I have purchased two used vehicles from C.J.'s. Used vehicles, heck brand new vehicles, are all man made creations and therefore it may naturally be assumed that they are inferior from the start. Used vehicles, it should go without saying, will continuously need some sort of service and repair, pretty much ongoing. If you get yourself a vehicle that requires little maintenance each year, you can count your self very lucky! Maintenance free automobiles, are a rarity! Most of the time I have brought my vehicles back to C.J.'s, and nearly always any issue I have had, has been remedied. Yes, once in awhile, an attempted fix made need a little more tweaking, but rarely. As a person who has been on a very tight budget for a long time, I have always found the Proprietors at C.J'S, have been very helpful in giving me solutions and ideas that work within my budget. I am appreciative of that thoughtfulness on their part. Trust me, I have been royally screwed over in my lifetime, by Garages, Shops, and Mechanics, who took me for a sucker. I have spent sums of money I didn't need to. Yes, we all need to be careful who we deal with, yet I think if you are considering purchasing a vehicle or need to have your vehicle serviced after purchase, through C.J.'s, you should be fine. Act like a spaz, be an idiot, make absurd demands, swear and cuss, be impatient, be a snot nose, and be all defensive when such a posture is overkill, then expect bad service in return from anyone, let alone C.J's. If you are one writing a negative review, and if you are a person telling others to steer clear of C.J.'s auto village, then I have to wonder just what sort of personality and psychology you present to all your fellow beings, that you encounter. Are you going into a relationship with this Dealership, looking for a fight? Do you have a nasty attitude going in, if so, then no wonder, you have a problem with this Dealership. They held the vehicle while I was in VA for two weeks on a family emergency, they were patient and understanding, even followed up to make sure all was ok with my mom and did not mention or ask about when I would be back just said stay in touch and we hope all is well. I love the vehicle, had a couple of small issues but being an older BMW its expected but nonetheless Brian was willing to help me find an affordable shop close to my home to work with me and get things right! Please proceed with caution when considering a purchase from this dealer. They will slip in hidden fees that you explicitly refuse. My car was delivered with 30k miles, was over $26k, and was delivered with bald (factory new) tires, a leaking roof due to broken seal on the antenna, chipped windshield. They fixed the chip but were not willing to do anything about the rest of it. Then I had $399 worth of extras added though I refused the coverage.

I bought a car with the car fax from this place. Owner was personable, degree in financing I believe he said. Car was $5995.00 I put down half in cash, financed the rest. I put a total of 13000 miles on it. During that 13 months I drove it I had to put almost a thousand in cash out for repairs, even with the GWC warranty. 14 months into owning the car the transmission blew on the highway. It sat in Ct for 3 months while I still made payments and insurance payments. Only to finally pay it off (3k) to get the title and I just sold it for $800 in cash. Underneath was full of rot, anything he told me was straight xxxxxxxx. Stay away
