I recently purchased a new 2026 Buick Encore GX Sport - PRIVATE AUTOMOTIVE ACQUISITION

I recently purchased a new 2026 Buick Encore GX Sport Touring from Cochran Buick GMC Youngstown and had the opportunity to work extensively with Steve Bannon during the process. Steve is an experienced automotive professional who understands this business at a level that has become increasingly uncommon. Having spent nearly three decades in automotive retail management myself and now operating Private Automotive Acquisition, a buyer-side automotive representation service, I tend to evaluate dealership personnel from a somewhat different perspective than the typical retail customer. Steve impressed me. He is knowledgeable, candid, professional, hardworking, and, most importantly, understands how to work through the realities of an automotive transaction without resorting to unnecessary pressure or the tired sales conventions that often make the process more difficult than it needs to be. We had several substantive conversations about market-based vehicle pricing, trade valuation, consumer behavior, lead management, and the changing nature of automotive retail. Steve clearly understands both the operational side of the dealership and the customer side of the transaction. He also understands that an informed buyer is not an adversary. That distinction matters. Throughout my time at the dealership, Steve was generous with his time, easy to communicate with, and willing to engage thoughtfully even when the discussion went well beyond the immediate vehicle purchase. He is the kind of veteran salesperson who brings actual value to the process rather than simply occupying a position between the customer and the desk. I would have no hesitation referring a Buick or GMC buyer to Steve. He is a credit to Cochran Buick GMC Youngstown and exactly the kind of experienced automotive professional this business needs more of. Highly recommended. Frank J. Dale Collins helped me find a specific car, and priced it right where I needed it to be, which was several thousand under book. He even helped me get bank financing. If you are looking for a great used car anywhere in Ohio, I highly recommend Dale's store. thanks much Dale

The dealer was a little slow in responding to our inquiries about a truck. But it was over Christmas so that’s understandable. They did respond and let us know the truck was sold.

We have been to quite a few dealerships in the Columbus area. We seen an ad in the Morrow County paper and took a trip to Craig Smith Auto Group. With in a couple of hours we drove home in our brand new car. Other dealers kept us for 3 to 5 hours to work on a deal. Other dealers would not give us what our trade was worth. Craig Smith gave us more that we expected on the trade, added extended warr. and payments were a lot less than we expected.
This dealership is excellent all the way around. Verry nice hometown dealer that knows how to treat people.
Felt like family - e.lesnar1980

Had been looking for a truck for our son for weeks. Was told to go to DC Auto Plex in Bellevue by our friend Mark who had bought his truck there. We stopped in and spoke to Seth who helped us find the perfect truck at the perfect price. We were amazed at how friendly Seth was. We felt at ease the second we started working with him. Come to find out he is the owner. Our son loves the truck and could not have been happier than we were with the total experience. We would recommend them to any and everyone. This guy is just excellent.

VERY DISHONEST PLACE!!! I wish there was a MINUS star... - this12

If you're not wanting to get treated horrible AFTER they get you in the door and get told lies and will be disrespected by 99% of the staff and be scammed by either the junk cars or the scamming way they conduct business and the way they do the "approvals" then avoid this circus!!! Horrible HORRIBLE way to do business and they just want your money and after the "deal" they ignore and hang up on you and will move on to the next. Check with the BBB on all of the complaints or with the Ohio Attorney General's Office on lawsuits. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE. **THEY ALSO OWN THE DEALERSHIP DOWN THE STREET DIXIE IMPORTS!!!! RUNNNNNNN!!!!!

Hey all, There’s really no other way to put it then oh my xxxxxx god. This car is more than I could’ve imagined better presented than ever expected and I am on cloud nine. From the first phone call through documentation, communication and everything else involved you and your team have been absolutely astounding. There is a reason that people do business with you and I am now hooked. The only thing I can say other than thank you times infinity, is to please find me some thing in Phoenix Yellow. Thank you again and again and again and again. You are all awesome.

The General Manager, Todd Boothe, was very helpful and - Lillie Lacy

The General Manager, Todd Boothe, was very helpful and attentive. He explained to me the paperwork and what to expect. He sat down with me during the financing. I must admit, I have never been so calm and well respected until a day ago. When I say I left with more confidence than I started with. Next time I need a car I know where to come. Thanks to Todd and his professional Staff, everyone was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable.

My then-partner and I bought a used Subaru Forester from Tom and his son (it's been 4-5 years, and I don't recall his name). They had a very good price on it and agreed to take it to a AAA mechanic who checked it for us (we were buying it long-distance). Report came back clean, we drove to Ohio to get it, and it's been a great car. They were very nice to deal with, great car and a great price. I would recommend them.

After reading all of the rave reviews about Fisher Acura... - Amanda P

After reading all of the rave reviews about Fisher Acura I am really disappointed in my experience. I may have rushed into my purchase without fulling inspecting the vehicle I was purchasing and that is my own fault, but I really trusted the dealership and their reports that the car was thoroughly inspected. Let me start with my first initial impression upon arrival. We arrived at the dealership on a Saturday and looked around on our own for about 15 minutes and looked around hoping to find help which did not come. We eventually had to enter the building a looked for a sales associate who could possibly help us which took another 5-10 minutes. I mean, we get it, it's Saturday, everyone is short staffed, but at the very least anyone could've acknowledged our existence with a greeting and assurance that someone would be with us. When we finally got help, he was nice and was very reassuring. He listened to what we were looking for and provided us with 3 options. We took the car for a test drive and were told that initially "the brakes will make a strange sound at first because it had been sitting for a while." We thought nothing of it. It was hard to see the many imperfections on the car due to how dirty all of the cars on the lot were. We chalked that up to the weather, but on the inside there were spills and stains that were missed when they cleaned the car during intake. Still, we loved the car and decided to purchase it. The process wasn't like any we've experienced before. There was a lot of running back and forth and it just wasn't the smoothest experience. The whole process took about 5-6 hours and mind you with a 3 year old that was rough. Finally got through the process, signed the forms, paid the man only to get a call to have to return because a form was forgotten. Even that was fine. Now, what was not fine was the fact that I had a massive wasp nest in my driver-side mirror which we only discovered when we were driving home. The car is riddles with orange spots on the white paint which I truly hope is not from rust considering the car is from the east coast which is a common problem. My biggest issue is the rear brakes were not inspected at all even though the report says the brakes were checked on the vehicle. I've had the car for all of 2 weeks and have already had to pay $300+ to replace the rear rotors and brakes because they were completely down to the metal. That was the source of the "noise" our salesmen had told us about during the test drive. Mind you, I also made a point to bring all of these issues up with I had to stop by the following Tuesday and I was pretty much dismissed. If I could return the car I probably would. I don't think I would return to purchase another vehicle and I doubt I would recommend this place to anyone else. Disappointing and buyers definitely beware. Probably bring your own mechanic to inspect the vehicle before you buy a used car from them.

Spoke with John on the phone about a used truck. He was great to deal with over the phone so I fugured it would be a great experience to come in and see him in person. As the dealership was a little bit out of the way it was well worth the trip. I did buy the truck and I got a great deal. Then I did the paper work with Mark Piper and he was also very helpful too. I recomend the dealership to one and all.

Great customer service - Joyce

Found a SUV online and although they were 2 hours away, well worth the drive! Great deal on the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe we purchased today. I hate car shopping and told Craig that but his friendly demeanor and sense of humor helped make this a very pleasant experience! Will go back there next time I need another vehicle & would refer friends to them!!

If you're looking for a good car buying experience, don't... - jellybean621

If you're looking for a good car buying experience, don't walk, but RUN from Hall's auto Sales. If you get a salesperson named Tom, expect him to be a complete jerk. Don't ask about price, he'll simply hang up on you. Their website is pitiful when it comes to car shopping. Not only is their sad excuse for a website, it's not user friendly, every car is kept a secret how much the car is forcing you to call. This is obviously their way of controlling their customers into paying as much as possible for a car, instead of offering good deals. Anyone that buys a car occasionally knows that good customer service and offering great deals is the way to win customers, not hanging up on them and keeping it a secret how much cars are.

AWFUL BUSINESS!! - Nma1jml

This business told my husband they would hold a truck to be purchased until he drove there as it was a 4 1/2 hour drive. My husband was 20 minutes away when they called and said they sold it. That was 9 hours of travel plus $90 in gas that Herrnstein had my husband waste! No compensation! They also relisted the truck on their website for a higher price the next day!
