An experience so poor that one would think it was purposely staged for comedy. Came in ready to purchase a 2021 Yukon Denali ..
Was excited to take advantage of the GMC 0% APR for 84 months offer .. salesperson telling me that the Yukon isn’t as expensive as I am claiming – come to find out they have the wrong vehicle up on the screen altogether, a Chevy Tahoe, when I must have said GMC Yukon at least 5x in the same breath.
Fast forward almost 2 hours … post test drive for myself and wife included (separate drives). Must have mentioned the 0% offer 1000x at this point.. all 3 of us readily excited about this offer/financing/etc. Going through process of copying license, valuing brand new existing (smaller) vehicle that will be traded in, etc.. salesperson goes to get the “numbers” from the clowns in finance
Numbers comes back completely out of whack. HURD is giving 5K less than NADA for trade in. It is even 3K less than the offer we received 2 days ago from a completely different dealership for a different vehicle. Our present vehicle is highly sought after with a solid residual value. We intentionally overpay to reduce the principal ensuring we would always have a buffer for trading up, for which HURD’s offer wouldn’t even cover in the payoff. They intentionally leave a balance in order to roll it in with the new vehicle loan and profit off of the increased loan amount (old + new loan).
But wait, there’s more. Turns out that the 0% offer is only valid on 2020 models and not the 2021! After nearly 2 hours with the salesperson who HAD NO CLUE, this came to fruition ONLY when looking at the crazy numbers that we were handed.
Salesperson then proceeds to tell us that the 2020 and 2021 are the exact same??? No accountability for wasting our time – not to mention they are completely different!!! Body style isn’t even the same! The entire time we were there discussing the SOLE REASON for us to consider an 80K vehicle was due to the 0% 84 months promotion that is going on. Clearly was mistaken as a customer, and my expectation is that the SALES STAFF WOULD BE AWARE OF THEIR OWN PROMOTION!!! Had the salesperson KNOWN THEIR OWN JOB then we would have immediately left and not WASTED TWO HOURS!
As an added bonus, we had our 3 month old baby with us. We made it very clear that we were pressed for time and wanted to get right to the numbers and make the deal, from the start. We immediately left and contacted the dealership requesting to speak with the sales manager in order to understand how/why this complete waste of time had occurred. We were advised that the sales manager was “busy” and would return our call. Two days later, no return call. Nothing.
HURD is an absolute joke. We are not used to this shameful level of treatment and incompetency. The sales person did not even know the basic differences between the Yukon models…exclaiming that they are “all the same”… all the same? Guess there is a swing of nearly 20K from the lowest model to the highest model for no reason then?
No inventory on site either. They had only one vehicle, AT4, that was not even the Denali trim that we were looking for.
This is a truly pathetic dealership in every aspect of the word pathetic. Would strongly discourage any competent individual from coming to this dealership. From the offer sheet we were given, people are definitely being ripped off here. There was even a charge for “locking lug nuts” for $200! Unbelievable.
I think we will stick with Lexus / Mercedes as we have in the past. Given this experience with HURD, it seems the caliber of customers they are used to are of a lower intelligence caliber. Not sure what other explanation there is for the treatment and pricing we were given.
Did I mention they tried to sell us the vehicle at MSRP on top of everything? What an absolute joke.
WOULD NEVER EVER PURCHASE FROM HURD, EVER!
P.S. look at the reviews. Not one response to the negative reviews. Corroborates the zero accountability factor to recognize all their failure and try to improve. Definitely seems like GMC / HURD is for the common blue collar person that works with their hands/back v. working with their head/brain.
