Worst experience with sales and finance I’ve ever had. Sales did nothing to sell the car I showed interest in. I live 5 1/2 hours away in another state. I found the car online with no pictures, I requested Sales did nothing to sell the car I showed interest in. I live 5 1/2 hours away in another state. I found the car online with no pictures, I requested more information and pictures. I got a generic email response with no info about the car, other than what I had already found online. I asked again via email and got a call a day later asking when I would come pick up the car. I asked for pictures again and to talk to someone in financing first. No offer to deliver, no negotiation on price, and when I asked a specific question on the car I was told it was NOT what I thought it might be (a GT California Special package). I knew when I got the pictures I would be able to tell, so I didn’t push it. I finally got 4 really bad pictures via text and the confirmation it was a GT California Special package. When the finance person contacted me that night at 8:45 pm he said there was no way he could get the rate I asked about and I should just “get it on my own”, but it would delay the purchase. I got the financing myself at the rate I requested by 9 am the next day, but then couldn’t get the purchase agreement, required for my bank to close the loan and issue a cashier’s check, from the dealership faxed until 1:30pm and 4 phone calls later. Then there were over $1000 in titling fees and sales tax included which were never discussed with me at any point. Thank goodness my bank agreed go ahead with the financing anyway. When I got to the dealership at the time I previously told them I would be there, nothing was ready. When I asked to test drive the car the salesman looked at me odd and said “well I guess so, that will give me time to do the paperwork.” This was three full days after I made the down payment and two days after the dealeship knew I had the financing. They knew I was coming from 5 1/2 hours away and I was told the papework would be ready when I got there. I waited 45 minutes at the dealership after returning from the test drive to meet with the finance guy. When I asked about all the fees, he said they have to be included and when I pointed out I would be titling and paying sales tax in South Dakota, not Minnesota he said “we would rather you do that anyway since we don’t know all the rules in South Dakota but since the check from your bank is already issued we can’t refund those loan proceeds until we get approval from your bank and if the purchase agreement changes you will have to wait 10 days for the check to clear.” At this point I’m wondering if they really want to sell the car or not. No way was I going to go home and then make another trip 10 days later to basically give the dealership EXACTLY what they were asking for the car. After a call to my bank to approve the “refund after the cashier check clears, in 10 days” and some emails I was eventually given the keys and the salesman said thanks for your business. As he was walking away I had to ask about the Luther Advantage gas and carwash discount card advertised on their website. He said, “Oh, that comes from corporate and anyone in your household can use it” and he walked away. He literately did nothing, he never even took us out to the car, I found it in the lot by myself. I’m very happy with my car, too bad the experience with the dealership was TERRIBLE and I drove so far to be treated so awful. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. Too bad they own so many dealerships, maybe customer service is better at other ones!?!? More
