On Friday July 23rd, I went in to the dealership around 4 PM. I was interested in purchasing my van out of a lease. I spoke with Ashley and went over the options. As part of the agreement in making my purchase I asked for two new batteries for my key fobs and detail of the van. She said absolutely. Unfortunately, she said most of her workers were gone for the night by the time we completed the transaction. She told me I would need to make an appointment in order to get my key fob batteries and the detail. Fast forward to this morning. The first guy I spoke with said to take my car around to the service department. I did. The service guy said he couldn’t detail my car without proof from the day of the transaction. He then said he would go and talk to the sales department. They said they would “handle” it. After about an hour, one guy came out with one of the fobs. I asked where the other one was. He said, well he needs it to be able to drive it. Made sense. About 75 minutes later, I looked outside. My van was sitting there. I asked the sales guy why my van was there. He said, he thought it had been taken care of. He said he would take care of it himself. He ran it through automatic wash. He came back and said “all done”. He said there were a lot of bugs. I of course knew this. I said I was promised a detail. He said he wouldn’t do that. I said, that every used car gets a detail before it goes up for sale. He said, no. We usually just send it in for a quick wash. I know that’s a lie. I walked outside. Mind you it was pouring down rain. It started hailing approximately one mile away. The bugs still aren’t off. Nothing was vacuumed. Nothing was done except for a cheap automatic wash that could have been at any local gas station. I cleaned out the van last night. I left cross country practice early today. It’s a 45 minute drive from my hometown to the dealership. And all of that plus waiting nearly 3 weeks for a 4 minute automatic car wash doesn’t seem fair for a customer who not only leased a vehicle from you but also bought the same vehicle 3 weeks ago. I spent nearly 4 hours of my day preparing for this nonsense. Thank you for listening.
