I bought a new Grand Cherokee from this dealership. Well, the transaction STARTED off good. and to give kudos where they are due, the Sales Manager Joe was a pleasure to deal with throughout the trans Well, the transaction STARTED off good. and to give kudos where they are due, the Sales Manager Joe was a pleasure to deal with throughout the transaction. He is the reason that I went to this dealership over others. In addition, the salesman who delivered my vehicle ,Austen, was great. It all came crumbling down when the financing time came. Contract was signed for the right price and a set interest rate, which was HIGH, but, knowing the rates are up, I accepted. This is where it all unwinds. The finance manager calls me 2 days later. MID me having meetings for our new house that we just closed on, so not the most focused on what was being asked. He quickly explained that they messed up and there is an additional $1000 rebate they needed to add, and he needed me to re-sign the paperwork quickly. Good for me! $1000 additional, that is a pleasant surprise! The call lasted for seconds, and i watched for the email. I SHOULD have looked more closely, but if you have ever signed paperwork for a car, it is a lot of pages. So, we quickly esigned from our phone and went about our day. I never received a copy of the paperwork, so I chased them for a few days to get a copy, so I could setup my auto-pay for the loan. When I got it, something didnt look right. The loan amount was the same as before...not less $1000, but then as well, the interest rate was higher!!! Costing me another $700 on the loan! And I have a 790+ score! It was at that point, I knew I got hood-winked. I immediately called to talk to the dealership and just got a series of run arounds about how I should have looked at what I was signing, and still it worked out better for me. xxx Don't get me wrong, I did mess up...by TRUSTING that someone would not try to take me by changing the interest rate under the guise of getting an additional rebate. If it was pitched that we have to change your interest rate and go with a different bank, I would have of course said, NO, I agreed to the lower rate. This IS about money, but it also is not. it is about Integrity and doing the right thing. The money is not the driving factor, it is about the ethics of it, and it just so happens that IF they had done the right thing and said, ...We are sorry, we messed up and here is your $1700 back, OR even agreed to what I asked for which was $700 in the extra interest.... it WOULD have been done and they would have redeemed themselves for a "mistake", but when they are not WILLING to rectify the situation, it is clear that the $750 was not worth their integrity, and for that reason, I have no choice but to warn others. And unfortunately, It will be tough for me to do business with them after this, because, they were not willing to resolve their oversight and what could be very easily contrived as intentional misdirection to have me not notice WHY I was re-signing. More
