Before the last couple of days, I had never met a car salesman with a true fiduciary responsibility for his customer. That is until working with Bernie and the Rock River Ford dealership. Bernie looked out for me in every respect. He made sure that the car that I was looking at was the best car that suited my needs. Then he made sure that the car’s fair price included every discount offered by the car manufacturer, Ford, and by the dealer. He kept the trade in value of my present car openly separate from the new car’s cost. He made sure that I understood how the trade-in’s value of my car had been arrived at. He made sure that the trade-in price was acceptable to me, and if not, to separate the trade-in from the deal. When the deal had been almost completed, he did not rush the delivery until the new car was properly prepared for delivery on the following day. That evening, Bernie called to tell me more good news. There was a new $500 factory promotion toward the sale of the new Focus Hatchback that I was buying. He just keeps working in my behalf! I won’t go into my experiences with other car salesmen and dealerships. Suffice it to say that Bernie is the best. More
