Hello Michael! I am sorry for the negative experience you had with Elgin Toyota. I handle customer relations for all 5 of our dealerships and my responses may seem scripted, but the goal is to get people to contact me so I can hear about their experience, and try to fix the issue, if possible. The conversations help guide me as to what processes we need to change within the entire group. I would love to respond in other ways sometimes, but I have done a lot of research on responding to reviews and the #1 rule is not to be argumentative. In my opinion there is also sometimes an issue of privacy. If I have someone to respond to that I know isn't being 100% truthful, or maybe they had a credit issue that we just couldn't work with, that is not for me to announce. I am a real person who tries my best to help everyone so that my name does not show up in negative reviews such as the review that you just left.
