I don’t believe it’s appropriate to charge a fee for credit card payments. If you went to a restaurant or a grocery store and were charged an extra 3% fee, would you feel good about it? I pay about a 1. credit card payments. If you went to a restaurant or a grocery store and were charged an extra 3% fee, would you feel good about it? I pay about a 1.9% credit card processing fee myself. You are a very large company, so it’s reasonable to assume you receive even better rates and more favorable terms than I do. That means charging customers a 3% fee is effectively adding an extra 1.5% or so as profit on top of the actual credit card processing cost. I don’t think that is right. Your staff are very kind and professional, but asking customers to pay an additional 3% calculated on top of the repair cost including tax does not seem appropriate. More
