After purchasing the vehicle from Crest, I started having issues with the vehicle on my way home from the dealership. The check engine light came on and the vehicle lost power. I contacted Drew Lippincott, issues with the vehicle on my way home from the dealership. The check engine light came on and the vehicle lost power. I contacted Drew Lippincott, the salesman, the next morning. Drew stated the check engine light came on twice while he was driving the vehicle. Of course, Drew did not reveal that to me until I called him after purchasing the vehicle on the morning of Aug. 18, 2020. Drew reassured me the vehicle went through a rigorous presale inspection and also was taken to BMW to resolve issues. Drew suggested I drive the vehicle for a while to correct the issue. I also noticed the 2 front wheels were scraped and a small gash in the driver’s side tire, and the bumper appear to have been damaged. When I test drove the vehicle on 08/14, there were no damages, but 2 scrapes on top of the bumper. Drew had emailed a video of the vehicle to me which do not reveal any damages except the 2 scrapes on top of the bumper. Since there was no improvement, I took the vehicle to a specialized BMW mechanic on 09/16/2020. The mechanic diagnosed the problem as a coil failure. The mechanic replaced the coil and resolved the issue. I sent my concerns via the Crest Website on 09/20. Drew called me on 09/23 stating he had received my concerns. Drew requested photos of the damages, and the invoices for the coil replacement, and rental car used while vehicle was in the shop. On 09/24 I received a call from the sales manager speaking as though it was an inconvenience for him to contact me in regards to my complaint. The sales manager stated the vehicle was a trade and the vehicle had issues when it was traded. The sales manager stated I purchased the vehicle shortly after it was traded. However, the CARFAX report reveal Crest initially offered the vehicle for sale on 07/26/2020 and the vehicle was serviced by BMW of Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV on 07/31/2020 which is about 2 weeks before I test drove the vehicle and purchased the vehicle. The sales manager also stated photos of the vehicle posted showed the vehicle had cosmetic issues to the wheels and back bumper. The video salesman, Drew, sent to me do not show any damages to the vehicle except the 2 scrapes on the bumper. The sales manager also stated the check engine light did not come on until I had the vehicle and I did not bring the vehicle back to Crest to resolve any issues. Salesman, Drew Lippincott, admitted the check engine light came on twice while he was driving the vehicle. The sales manager stated he would reimburse $127 of the $388.53 I paid for the coil replacement and rental car. I told the sales manager that was unacceptable. I received the $127 reimbursement a week later. I filed a complaint with the BBB. After 2 months, Crest responded on 12/05/2020 stating we are willing to come to an agreement with the customer to help him with the items in question. Crest requested receipts, and I included the receipts/estimates for the work needed to repair the vehicle on 12/10/2020. On 02/01/2021 Carla Thompson, Director of Customer Experience responded ‘the customer signed “AS is with all Defects” and Used Vehicle Car Fax Disclosure. The sales team disclosed “scrapes on the bumper’ and we had BMW assess the vehicle before we sold it. Crest and its current or past employees did not agree to any repairs or maintenance costs. All such Agreements are done in writing and signed off by sales, manager and customer. If a verbal agreement for the reimbursement of 1 coil and rental was done, Crest will gladly honor that. We cut a check for $127 on 10/02/2020 and customer states $388.53 was the total amount he was expecting. The difference of $261.53 will be cut back to the customer”. My complaint was seeking $1,359.07 and not $261.53. The amount consists of replacing the drivers’ side tire, repair of bumper and wheels, as well as, the coil replacement. My compliant is specifically reference damages to the vehicle that happened after I signed the agreements on 08/14/2020 and before I took possession of the vehicle on 08/17/2020. On 08/14/2020 Drew, the salesman, stated the vehicle need to be detailed and Crest could not release the vehicle until Crest received funding for the vehicle from my credit union. On August 17 Drew notified me funding had been received for the vehicle and asked if could take possession of the vehicle before Crest closed that day. My Crest experience consisted of dishonesty, immorality and a lack of integrity. I warn anyone doing business with Crest Automotive Group to do so with extreme caution. More
