From, Dundee, MI, Chris has been with Yark since 2000. He and his wife, Lynette, have 3 children, 2 daughters, Mackenzie and Brooke, and a son, Chase, who is Chris's personal hero. He is a special needs child with a strength and spirit that motivates Chris every day. Outside of work, his family has a membership in the Toledo Roadrunners Club and they try to do several local races and events every year. Chris also enjoys biking on the area roads and Metropark trails. His favorite place to be is in his backyard, around the pool and fire pit with family and neighbors. Chris has never really had a weird job, but spent 4 years in the Marine Corps and a year in residential construction before his career in the auto business.

We truly apologize for your experience and regret that it has led to this negative review. Customer satisfaction is our #1 priority and have forwarded your review to proper management. Your vehicle was brought in last week for recalls and engine tick/belt noise that we diagnosed as an engine knock or tick. We recommended further diagnosis or engine replacement. We discovered that the oil filter in the engine was not factory and didn’t appear to be installed fully seated. Also, we found the oil cap was cracked. We have seen incorrect, aftermarket filters cause oil pressure problems in the past on various engines. When told you of our findings, you told us Midas had changed the oil previously. We changed the oil and put in the correct filter and the noise was better but still present. We advised that there was potentially internal engine damage. You were informed that the engine problem may have been caused by the aftermarket oil filter and installation, which can lead to oil pressure problems and engine damage.

After investigating these concerns with our sales manager Steve Kizewic, and our sales advisors Chris Miller and Bill Potter, we unfortunately do not agree with this review. First, please know that we would not sell a vehicle from under another customer. Email exchanges between Chris Miller and Mr. Gundrum have been reviewed by our management team and at no point was a commitment made on the Mercedes Benz MLK. Mr. Gundrum asked to test drive on that Wednesday evening, which is when Mr. & Mrs. Gundrum met Bill Potter. The next day, Thursday morning, Mr. Gundrum called Chris and asked about the brakes on the Mercedes Benz MLK. When Mr. Gundrum arrived to the dealership Thursday afternoon to get his Honda appraised, Chris Miller was made aware that Bill Potter had a customer that was seriously interested in the Mercedes Benz MLK and was driving in from Columbus. As Mr. and Mrs. Gundrum had not committed to the Mercedes Benz GLK we gave the customers traveling into town an opportunity to decide if this was the right vehicle for them. Chris then immediately informed Mr. Gundrum of this fact and he replied: “I understand that it was still for sale since I hadn’t committed to buying it or given a deposit last night.” Chris showed Mr. Gundrum other alternatives, including a 2012 Audi Q5, a 2016 X3, and a 2016 X1. We were not made aware of a “sale pending” on the Mercedes Benz MLK because a verbal or even written email exchange regarding the purchase of this vehicle did not occur. We regret to learn that these customers will no longer be working with our dealership.
