Stay Away! They do not stand behind their vehicles! My husband and I went to Palmen to purchase a truck. We drove from Illinois, once to look at the truck and another time to purchase officially...about My husband and I went to Palmen to purchase a truck. We drove from Illinois, once to look at the truck and another time to purchase officially...about an hour and 15 minute drive. After officially purchasing the truck the staff at Palmen thanked us for our business, asked us to write them a good review and we went on our way. Fast forward one week later, let me just say that again ONE WEEK LATER my husband is on a fishing trip out of state when his truck starts to smoke and isn't accelerating any longer. He could only accelerate to a certain speed until the truck would shut down. Naturally we were very upset after spending $30,000 on a truck one week earlier! Finally my husband was able to make it home, we called on Monday the very next day to tell them what had happened and ask how they were going to fix it and help us. Keep in mind my husband is now relying on friends and family to drive him to and from work as we both work full time jobs and I couldn't lend him my car. After calling Palmen and getting the run around...literally transferred to at least 4 different people they indicated we had to take the truck up there to be looked at. My husband drove the truck in that condition up the Palmen to have them look at it, after talking to the service department, two managers we found out that they weren’t sure what the problem was and we were going to have to leave it there, no loaner car! That was going to cost us money because there was no warranty on the truck, we decided to find a better deal closer to home. We took the truck to another place in Illinois for them to fix the problem. The day my husband went to pick his truck up from being fixed we got a call from the Sales Manager at Palmen telling us that there was a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty on the vehicle. WHAT?? This is what makes me think that they knew there was something wrong with the truck...not ONE person mentioned that there was a warranty when we purchased the truck. Not the salesman, not the finance department when we signed the papers, not the service manager not the other two managers, not even the GM, it wasn't until we already had the truck fixed by another place we find out there was a warranty. After finding that out we obviously took the truck and had it fixed already we asked if they would reimburse us for the $1400 fix that we had done, they indicated since we didn't have the work done there they could only give us $400. They LET US LEAVE the dealership 4 times now without mentioning a warranty, only telling us we had one after the fact and now won’t even reimburse us the full amount we paid. I wish that was the end of this saga....after we accepted the fact that Palmen doesn't stand behind the safety of their vehicles and only reimbursed us $400 we decided to move on and let it be. We have now owned the truck for 2 1/2 months, my husband hears the truck making a weird noise, he is very mechanically savvy and knows it’s not right. He calls Palmen again and makes an appointment with the service department, keep in mind we are within the warranty that we didn't know we had. On the day of the appointment the truck wasn't making the noise anymore..Just our luck. We called the service department and told them that the truck wasn't making the noise, the man on the phone said and I quote "That happens a lot, I will document it in our records so that the computer shows why you were bringing it up here." A week later the truck was making the noise again, before we could get an appointment at Palmen the turbos blew up. We were 250 miles over our warranty when we called Palmen again, remember the service department noted in their files that we called within our warranty regarding the noise that ultimately led to the destruction of the truck. Palmen has stated that they will not help us because we are past our warranty. To fix the truck will be about $5000. SO TO RE-CAP Within 3 months of owning this truck, it is completely out of commission, undriveable, completely unsafe and on top of purchasing the truck for $30,000 we are pumping over $6000 into fixing it with absolutely NO help from anyone at Palmen. Palmen does not stand behind their vehicles, they don't stand behind the safety of the machines they are putting on the road and they DON'T GIVE A CRAP about you once you drive off that lot. DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR FROM THIS PLACE, they don't care about you or the safety of your family! More

Sales Team might want to reconsider their topic of open conversation in the sales room when customer's are waiting. The vehicle was delivered with only 1/4 of gas in the tank, barely enough to get me home, alot less than I left my trade in with!! This is the only vehicle purchase where there was not a full tank of gas! The price I paid was fair. I wasn't given the $25.00 gift card for the test drive because I didn't print it off of the internet. No keychain or any little extra "Thank you's" for spending almost $20,000. I've purchased quite a few cars with the help of the internet over the last 10 years, and all and all....this experience was "Fair" More

**Update 08/12/2013-I received a call from Clay Evans at Palmen. Since then he has worked with me to address any issues that I have had. These guys were GREAT !! I have changed my review to all 5s. Palmen has done a super job of after that Sale Support. I cannot say enough about the HIGH Level of customer support I have received. Palmen will definately be my first Dealer to see when purchasing our next vehicle. Great JOB. Thanks !! Overall all experience was good. Sales People were friendly and better than some of the previous buying experiences. I have taken away a few things to remember with future purchases. I was able to do a lot of the purchasing communications online. Which was good. With the limited time to look at the vehicle I missed a few things that if they would have been fixed would have contributed to a better overall experience. I have fixed 2 of the things. The last cosmetic thing will cost a little $$. Which is why the Price rating is at a 3. More
