bought a 2011 Kia Sportage, thought it was a good deal. .. after driving a week the transmission started going into 4th gear default, and the battery light would come on.. always happened when acceleratin .. after driving a week the transmission started going into 4th gear default, and the battery light would come on.. always happened when accelerating between 20 to 45 mph.. transmission would always reset after restarting... when going into the default around 45mph plus the truck would suffer a violent collision in the transmission and engine.. engine codes P0880, PCM failed to receive date from TCM, and 7E8-7E9 fuel/air intake codes,senors detects vibration from engine rod knock, i.e., transmission slammed into default gear... I explained this this to service tech,, he had a deer in the headlight look.. had vechial all day.. at 5:45 got a call and said the couldn't diagnose the problem, that it was probably the transmission, I needed to go to a Kia Dealer..REALLY.. geez.. truck was parked outside service area with keys in it, no one to say or explain anything.. the impression is they didn't have any idea what the problem was, and the didn't want anything to do with it... I could have done better buying off a fly by night lot on Boulder hi way More
