Everyone we talked to or came in contact with made sure we understood what all was going on with each step of the process. We had a little issue, but it was taken care of, and the result was better than w we understood what all was going on with each step of the process. The sales team at Oakes Kia of Olathe was amazing, but financing, management, and especially service, are a joke. First, service: Our daughter has a 2014 Sorento. It was acting up when she was tryin financing, management, and especially service, are a joke. First, service: Our daughter has a 2014 Sorento. It was acting up when she was trying to start it, and it was emitting a strong gas odor. We had it towed to the dealership. They kept it for 2 days, said they couldn't find any issues, and gave it back to us. We scheduled an oil change at a different shop 2 days later. They called us after they pulled it into their bay and said the fuel line was broken and it was leaking gas from the line into the pump and gas was everywhere! HOW IN THE WORLD DID KIA MISS THIS??????? They are either completely incompetent or they lied, held the car for 2 days, and never touched it. Either way, that engine COULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE OR EXPLODED WHILE OUR DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT!!!! And the kicker is, Oakes Kia replaced that broken fuel line 5 months earlier. I have no choice after this experience but to think it was improperly installed in the first place, based on the incompetence we've seen first-hand. We had it towed back to them since it was their mess in the first place. We walked in and lit up the team at the service desk, explaining what we had just learned from the other shop technicians, and demanded they take care of the situation. They replaced the fuel line (again) and threw in an oil change for free (yippee). We took the car back to the other shop afterwards and had them check Kia's work. Regarding the negligence/incompetence, all they would say is that the proper person has been notified and is "investigating the situation". We haven't heard another word, but don't believe anyone was notified and think they just swept it under the rug. Now, the finance team: We bought my husband a 2026 Kia Sorento at the beginning of June. The salesman was awesome and the car-buying experience was possibly the easiest we've ever had. However, that's where the buck stops. The paperwork was so messed up that we had to go back to the dealership 3 times to resign, and they overnighted us other paperwork that was missed the first 3 times. This meant a fourth trip to the dealership to drop that paperwork off. The fifth and sixth trips to the dealership were to figure out why they weren't paying off the loan on our trade in. They informed us that they have 20 days to submit that payment. On the 23rd day after our purchase date, they finally sent off the check. The seventh trip to dealership was to confirm this was taken care of, and ask if they could possibly, finally provide us with the title paperwork to get the vehicle registered. The eighth trip was to have them fix incorrect sales tax calculations on that paperwork, which was discovered by the woman at the DMV after my husband waited in line over an hour. So it took 23 days, 8 trips to the dealership, and a ridiculous amount of time, effort, and pressure on our part, to finally complete the purchase of our new car. Finally, management: With all of the trips to the dealership and issues that we dealt with, not one time did a member of the management team come out to intercede. My husband did get a phone call from a member of management one time, while he was in the dealership talking to one of the members of the sales team (who by the way, was the only person in this whole experience who tried to help us and show any accountability for the dealership's mistakes-again, the sales team is great!). The manager who called left a message, but when my husband tried to call him back he got his voicemail. My husband left him a message and the manager never returned his call. We will never return, and we highly recommend that you STAY AWAY FROM OAKES KIA! More
