If I could give my service advisor, Rhoel Grey more than 5 stars I would. He treats me professionally and takes a personal interest in serving my X5. If you buy a used car from Germain of Naples that doesn’t have any issues, I’m inclined to believe your experience will be outstanding. If you have any issues, buyer beware! I bought a used 2017 Acura with 4 have any issues, I’m inclined to believe your experience will be outstanding. If you have any issues, buyer beware! I bought a used 2017 Acura with 42,000 miles from Germain BMW a week ago. It began having major issues with the vehicle less than 3 days after it was purchased. The vehicle sputters on the interstate and is laboring to start, taking several tries, making it unsafe as we could get stranded at anytime anywhere. We had the battery scanned at an auto store to check for a weak or non charging battery, no issues with the battery. There are not any engine light/s or warning lights to indicate an issue, but there is one. I emailed the salesman and he called the next day. His response was “you bought the car. We don’t have lemon laws in Florida.” Given that I bought a warranty I initially did not think of returning the vehicle. However, the salesman responded with contempt and unprofessionally. One of Germain’s core values is gratitude and I was treated with condemnation, no accountability standing behind the claims that appear to be untrue about the vehicle they made when I purchased it. Now the Germain purchased vehicle is setting in our drive way waiting to be truly checked over by the certified dealer, who was not able to get the Germain vehicle in for a week. The sales manager, Steve Hill then called to what I initially assumed was to address concerns appropriately. Steve Hill stated that he/we were on a recorded line. Early on during our conversation we discussed my conversation with the salesman and he stated that he would review the conversations. I told him that I was never notified that I was being recorded by the Germain dealer or the sales man, David Brown, and informed Steve that it appears they broke the Florida two party notification law by recording our calls without two party notification. At this point Steve Hill attempted to cover this slip by stating I was argumentative and trying to over talk to get what he wanted on the recording. When I let Steve Hill know I was going to leave a review letting others know of my experience with Germain, he attempted to get a defamatory characterization of me on the recording by stating I was going to “blackmail” the company. We let him know I had the right to share my experience online and to characterize it as “blackmail” is an easy way to deflect blame and try and discredit legitimate concerns and very poor experience with Germain When you purchase a used luxury car from a luxury car dealer you expect them to address any customer concerns with respect, not contempt, placing blame and washing their hands of concerns for the product that they claim they stand behind. The vehicle had/has obvious issues and it is not the resolution I would anticipate considering their mission statement is to attract, develop and retain exceptional people to deliver an outstanding experience that creates loyalty beyond reason. Steve Hill’s initial position was accusatory, deflected blame, and intimidation. The biggest concern regarding the Germain vehicle is that I was told that the dealership pays an exuberant amount of money to have used cars inspected. I was also told that the vehicle I purchased was gone over with a a fine tooth comb, and that all vehicles are scanned due to the companies dedication to quality. On our call with Steve Hill, he stated they did not scan the car for issues as they do no even have an Acura scanner. The level of inspection they present before selling appears not be accurate. There was zero accountability or concern from Germain BMW of Naples to stand behind their product for an entire week. The lack of integrity was demonstrated only after the sale was made. We are now down a vehicle as the vehicle I purchased is setting in our drive way, un-reliable to drive where it will sit until my appointment in a week with certified dealer mechanic. Not what anyone would expect from a luxury car dealer dedicated to not compromising quality, gratitude, accountability and respect. More
