Happy with my vehicle but not with the sales staff. I had researched Toyota Corollas and knew what I wanted. My Toyota had better prices compared to other area dealerships. It didn't take long to deci I had researched Toyota Corollas and knew what I wanted. My Toyota had better prices compared to other area dealerships. It didn't take long to decide on a certain car. That was the easy part. Then the high pressure finance paperwork guy, Greg, entered the picture. He spent over an hour trying to sell me on Simonizing (clear coat package), extended warranty, and GAP insurance. He acted shocked when I said no to the $1200 Simonizing package. I agreed to the GAP and extended warranty. We agreed that I would put down a deposit that day and pay the rest of the deposit when I picked up the car. Two days later I got a phone call from My Toyota saying the paper work wasn't filled out correctly (their error) and I needed to come in and sign a new form. When I called them back I told them I changed my mind about the GAP insurance. I was told to reconsider because I only put a $2000 deposit down. I told them I put $2000 down to hold the car and was going to pay an additional $3000 at the time of pick up. I had told that to the salesman but it wasn't conveyed to the finance manager. The finance manager started to get huffy because the paperwork was all wrong. Quickly he changed his tone and asked how soon could I come back in and sign new paperwork. I was busy and said I would sign it when I picked the car up. During that time I researched extended warranties and decided I did not want to spend the extra money on that. When I went to pick up my car, the finance manager came up to me and verified that I still wanted to skip GAP insurance and told him GAP insurance and also the extended warranty. He reacted with surprise, threw his hands in the air and walked away. I never saw him again for the rest of that transaction. Another employee finished the paperwork. When the paperwork was completed I was told that I was going home with a temporary paper license plate because the computer system was down that issued regular metal license plates. But I was assured I should get my plate in a week or so. A week later I e-mailed the salesman(Dennis)I had dealt with. He assured me I would be getting it any day now and he was going to check into it. Never heard back from him. The a few days later, I called and talked to Jake, the person who finished up my paperwork, and asked about the license plate. He said he would check into it and never called back. The next day I called again and spoke with Greg and he looked into and called me back within 30 minutes saying that he had the license plate in his hand and wondered what I wanted to do. I told him I did not have time to run to Muskegon to pick it up so I wanted him to put it in the mail that morning. It was Wednesday so I should have it by Saturday. It never came. The next Tuesday I called and talked to Jake. He called me back within 30 minutes saying he found my plate in the mail room. He told me a courier was heading past my place and would drop it off within an hour. The courier had it to me within 30 minutes. The envelope was postmarked the day before. It took 20 days to receive my permanent license plate and I was never given a truthful explanation to what took so long. If My Toyota can't handle filling out paperwork and getting a license plate to me in a timely manner, I have zero confidence in their ability to do any service on my car. More

They helped me buy a van while in the middle of traveling without an address. We purchased two high milelage used cars in one week from this dealership. We were told that the vehicles were checked out, and any major issues were addressed. Understand, they will have you sign a form making it clear, that you are buying this vehicle, "AS IS". And trust me, they mean, "AS IS" is. Within 24 hours after driving off the lot, one vehicle had three dash lights on requiring $1,700 worth of work. The second car had two and we are waiting for that repair total now. The service person told us that the "log" never showed those lights on before, its just bad luck (you can learn more about how these lights can be manipiulated with a google search, not that this was the case with this car). When I pressed her on the issue she said, "we just service the cars". I later came back and she was "on break". Another disinterested service tech was ther to get rid of me. I called the salesman and, he said, "I just sell the cars, let me call my manager". A few days earlier he had no trouble talking about the condition of the vehicle. He was a totally different guy. The next day I did get a VM from the sales manager asking me to call. But based on other reviews, regarding him, on this site I didnt bother calling back. I did however file a "formal" complaint with NIssan Corporate. And to my surprise, when they called, they said directly to me; "We really cant help you, we have no control over the dealership." I explained to them that I was not asking for anything. I was not going to trust the same dealership that put us in this position to try and fix the vehicle. I just wanted them to know how their dealerships treated this customer. He repeated, "We have made the dealership manager aware of your complaint". They should have called you. Yeah, they didnt. He did offer to escalate it to the next next level, but assured me, "there is nothing that they can do". This post is just fair warning, when they say, "AS IS", they mean it. Dont just test the car, spend the money for an independent trusted mechanic to check it out. Maybe the owner of this dealership should take a minute and check out what his people are doing. More
