I was looking to buy a specific RAV 4, and I sent an inquiry to multiple dealerships through an automotive website. Derik Wilkerson was quick to respond on behalf of Ed Martin Toyota. Meanwhile, I heard from about ten other dealerships (not all local). I was amazed at the over-MSRP markup some dealerships were asking, and some required a trade-in as well. As it turned out, what I wanted, just wasn't available. Once I decided to place an order, I called Derik because he assured me Ed Martin Toyota wouldn't charge more than MSRP. When my husband and I arrived for our appointment, Toyota had yet to publish the price of 2022 RAV 4s or the accessory packages, so I brought in a spec sheet for a 2021 model. Derik created an out-the-door price but with an estimated MSRP. The General Manager (Eric Sarjeant) initialed it and wrote, "Will not sell above MSRP." Given what we discovered about other dealerships, our confidence in Ed Martin Toyota and Derik significantly rose on seeing those words. By the time we left, Derik was our car-selling hero for wrapping things up in about an hour. Derik kept me posted on the build date, and my car arrived in about nine weeks. Derik made sure that everything on my wish list was cared for, making it a simple process to wrap up the paperwork with Sam Smith in the Finance office.
