James, We can both agree that it would be unfair to ask you to pay for a hitch that you did not order. You omitted in the review that we had the exact same vehicle only a few days away without the hitch that we offered you. As you know, this was added by Toyota (the factory), not Ed Martin Toyota (the dealer). Being the dealer, I felt offering to cover half the price of the hitch was fair since you had the opportunity to get the exact same car in a few days (and that you saw value in having the hitch on the vehicle) and also that Ed Martin Toyota did not make any mistakes ordering or building this vehicle. I apologize for you not feeling that I did not care about your business. I will take full ownership on that. Due to the aggressive negotiation, I admit that I did feel that way. In hindsight, I feel that this could have been handled much better by both parties; for that I am sorry. At the end of the day, we are two adults arguing over a couple hundred dollars (not at the fault of either of us) hence why I offered 50% off. I would have eaten it 100%, but again, I had the exact vehicle w/o a hitch available in a few days available with no upcharge. So I saw this a s a fair solution. I stand by making a sound business decision in my offerings, but I regret the way this was handled and again, I apologize for that. Eric Sarjeant, GM – Ed Martin Toyota
