After being a customer for more than 20 years, I was told over the phone and in person, that the check engine light revealed a problem that woul After being a customer for more than 20 years, I was told over the phone and in person, that the check engine light revealed a problem that would cost up to $14,000.00 to fix in my 10 year old VW Beetle…that I should consider junking the car. After checking with two other VW experts, that problem was not there at all. Instead a repair of $700.00 was required, which I had done. (Ironically, I was charged about $700.00 by Joseph for the incorrect diagnosis.) The repairer had the Joseph paper documents with the estimate from Joseph We could only conclude that either my Joseph paperwork was confused internally with some one else’s, or Joseph didn’t want to do the job. It seemed to be either incompetence or carelessness or both. I expected better from this VW Dealer/Service shop that I trusted for many years. More
