Make sure you know the true value of the car you're interested in by looking at sites like Edmunds, Blue Book, or Car Fax. This dealer sold my inexperienced son a car for twice its value. When I confronted them about it, they did not deny their dishonesty but only said "he signed the purchase agreement."

exact Chevy Volt on July 9th. The Check Engine Light came on immediately, and a diagnostic by Roseville Chevy confirmed the main high-voltage EV battery had failed and required a complete replacement. I returned the car to Roseville Toyota for a full refund.
As of mid-July, Roseville Toyota has relisted this exact vehicle for $11,062 with a generic 'Serviced' tag on CarFax. If you are considering this car, DO NOT buy it without requiring written proof from a GM dealer showing the main high-voltage battery was fully replaced—not just reset or cleared of codes.

Hi Branden,
Thank you for reaching out. I prefer to keep all communications regarding this matter in writing for documentation purposes.
I left the online reviews and filed a formal inquiry with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) out of significant concern for consumer transparency and safety. Here is a brief recap of my experience with this vehicle:
July 9: I purchased the 2017 Chevy Volt (VIN: 1G1RD6S55HU117545) from Roseville Toyota.
July 14 & July 17: The Check Engine Light (CEL) illuminated almost immediately after purchase. Roseville Toyota sent the vehicle to Roseville Chevrolet for diagnostics.
July 21: Roseville Toyota called to inform me that Roseville Chevrolet confirmed the main high-voltage EV battery had failed and required a full replacement. Because replacement batteries were backordered with no clear timeline, Roseville Toyota unwound my contract and accepted the return of the car.
July 24: I noticed the exact same vehicle relisted on your website for sale at $11,062. When I called your dealership to inquire if the main high-voltage battery had been replaced, I was informed there was no record of battery replacement work in the vehicle's repair history.
July 27: The online listing was removed. Later that evening, a sales representative texted me offering other EVs and claimed that vehicles are automatically listed online upon arrival and that this Volt was "sent to auction."
However, claiming this was an automated system error does not align with the details of the listing. The listing had been specifically updated with the vehicle's new mileage (~86,700 miles, up from ~86,300 miles when I purchased it), reflecting the mileage added during my driving and diagnostic test cycles.
Relisting an EV with a confirmed failed high-voltage battery—whether for retail sale or through wholesale channels without full disclosure—presents serious financial and safety risks to the end buyer.
My reviews accurately reflect my documented experience with Roseville Toyota. If the vehicle has indeed been sent to auction, I trust the known battery defect was fully disclosed. Should you have official, written documentation from a certified GM service center confirming that the main high-voltage battery was fully replaced prior to any sale or transfer, I would be open to reviewing it.
Well, what can I say about this car dealership?
The staff are friendly—I don't know how, but somehow they convinced me to buy my car, and I don't regret it at all. It's just an incredible car, and

honor that price. Don’t say “they won’t approve it.” You’re the freaking sales manager. You know what price you can sell the car for…if you cannot honor a price you quoted, don’t lie to the customer about how low of a price you can approve. In addition, when a customer says no to a price, don’t send over a 2nd, 3rd and eventually a 4th “Sales Manager” to close the deal. And if your Sales Manager states “where did these numbers come from…don’t ask me, be prepared. And what should be the number one thing not to do to a customer, besides all of the above, is to NOT flat out lie to a customer. Example, purchase price was quoted at 36,000.00. Down payment was 20,000.00. If the “miscommunication “ (lie) was that 36k was what was being financed (not sell price), then the 36k plus the 20k down payment totaled 56k for the purchase price of the vehicle. Sticker price was 48k. As you can see, the numbers don’t add up. They get 2.5 stars on Yelp. Read their reviews. Most describe their “strong arm” tactics.
