I've been researching and looking at Jeep Grand Cherokees for a couple of months now and was waiting for the right vehicle and right price to purchase. Back in October, I went into First Jeep to test drive a for a couple of months now and was waiting for the right vehicle and right price to purchase. Back in October, I went into First Jeep to test drive a V6 and a V8 Grand Cherokee so I could determine which I liked more. During that visit, I worked with Bryan (salesman) and Paul (sales manager). Both were very pleasant and very reasonable to work with. I wanted to give it some thought since the V6 is more efficient, but I liked the power of the V8. After giving it some thought and cross-shopping the price they quoted me for their 2019 with other dealerships, I emailed them asking if they could match another dealership's price, to which they came down a bit but it was still more money, so I held off purchasing the vehicle. About a month and a half later, I inquired again about pricing on a 2020 they had in stock. Unfortunately, it sold before I could get in to the dealership. Paul was very understanding and great to work with during these inquiries. Recently, James reached out to me via email inquiring if there was anything they could do to help me in my search, so I mentioned exactly what I was looking for since they didn't have any V8s on the lot. He said he would look around and see if he could get it. A few days later, I emailed him to check if he was able to find any, and much to my surprise he was able to since that configuration seems to be uncommon. I proceeded to visit the dealership the very next day to meet with him to review the window stickers and talk pricing. Right away, their pricing was a little high, but I expected that given my prior experience. I inquired if the price included a $2,000 rebate that I qualified for to which I received three different answers from James: "I didn't know about that rebate," "No, it's no longer a valid offer and isn't on Jeep's website anymore," and finally "Yes, that was already included in the price." After hearing the three different answers as I continued to inquire about it, I felt like I was being mislead, so I thanked James for his time and effort finding this Jeep at another dealership and politely declined as I got up to leave. James became noticeably upset that I was leaving. As I approached the door to leave the dealership, I heard James loudly yell in my direction, and I quote, "don't let the door hit you in the a** on the way out." At first I was shocked that a sales person would even say something like that to a potential customer, especially in front of a bunch of other customers who were in for sales and many others that were waiting for their vehicles to be serviced. Blake, the sales manager on duty when this happened, rushed outside to apologize and try to finish the deal. Even though he was able to come down to a reasonable price, at that point I was unwilling to give any of my money to a dealership whose employee just disrespected me like that. I will not be returning to First Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram at any point in the future if James is still an employee, nor would I recommend this dealership. I've been treated much more respectfully by shady used car lots before, so this experience was completely disappointing given how great Bryan and Paul had been previously. More
