There should be a choice for zero stars. This dealership is the most ridiculous place I have ever been. The entire place is run like a rent a center. There is zero cross communication. The lack of professionalism, integrity, quality, knowledge, and pure honesty is absurd. I came here for service. Prior to coming I called, as I had a few service recalls on my car. I asked for a call back. Never got one. It took me 4 times to call to be able to make an appointment; seems a little excessive to me. After making an appointment I asked for a phone call back as I needed a repair on my car and wanted to speak to someone. I was advised only a service advisor would be able to assist. Fine. I never got a call. I called back. Never got a call. I called back again; all of which, to be noted, I’m speaking with someone who is sitting at home sending messages to the dealership service center. Short end. I never got a call. I had to book my service 3 months in advance. That was how long it took them to give me a Saturday appointment. I asked for a loaner. I was told they are first come first served. I asked as it was so far in advance if they could reserve one. I was told no. Zero shock there. I arrived for my service appointment. I inquired how long it would be and they informed me it would take the day and I could come first thing Monday morning to pick it up. As I was there I said I was interested in trading in my vehicle and getting something bigger; my lease is up in a few months and I was ready to do something that day. They handed me over to a young woman. She introduced herself. Nice, but green, and had the professionalism of a fast food employee, not necessarily a car salesperson. After taking 30 minutes of my time; and me explaining exactly what I wanted, she tells me “I’m not exactly a sales person, I’m an assistant. I’ll have to get my person to help you. He’s on his way back here now.” There is nothing more insulting to me that wasting someone’s time. So. We walked back into the dealership. She asked me to take a seat and he would be here shortly. I took a seat and looked around. I saw a boys club. An old school setting of a poorly run car dealership with makeshift “deal tables” and men who were sitting around doing nothing but goofing off. One man was practicing his golf swing while the others were laughing. No one came over to me. No one. No one asked if I needed help. If I was waiting for something. They all sat there like children. 20 minutes passed. So, without a car (as mine was there for service) I took an uber to another Chevy dealership. About 6 minutes before my uber arrived the young woman re appears with a man. He greets me by saying “so I hear you may be interested in a car.” Mind you, wasting my time is the biggest insult. So I explained to him that I already went through my criteria with the young woman and I was headed to another Chevy dealership and showed him the goofing off and how incredibly insulting the incompetence was at that dealership. He apologized and said he would make it up to me by giving me the best deal. His name was Dennis. He said he would call me later after locating the vehicle that fit my specs. He never called. I can’t say in surprised. The next day I get a text message. “Are you still interested in test driving a xxxxx”. To which I reply “no, I’m waiting on a quote; someone was supposed to call me?” And then about an hour later I get another message “oh sorry. I see it was Dennis. Okay thanks.” At that point I still get no reply. No quote. No apology. No nothing. Monday rolls around and I call the dealership when they open to confirm my car is ready. I get the answering service. I am told no one is available, they just opened. How is no one available if they just opened? Again I leave my information and ask for a phone call back. One hour passes. Nothing. I call back. Same thing. Another hour. I call again. Leave a message. 4 hours later I receive a call…. More

It got very ugly at Don Mealey this afternoon, see my review below. I am so pissed still. Grant was really great, he laid out my deal with thought and accuracy . Grant also took his time in explaining and showing all the car features once the sale was finalized. Grant, I consider is a major asset to Don Mealey Car Dealership in Clermont. Above was my review back in May 2024 and I gave Don Mealey a 4 star review. I had purchased a brand new 2024 Corvette C2 and 2 weeks later I purchased in a all cash acquisition, a used 2018 Equinox with 49,000 miles on it. Wow what a year does to my opinion of Don Mealey, 3 weeks ago my transmission blew on my Vette, all covered under warranty, in shop for 2 weeks due to only one technician that knows how to repair it and apparently there were 2 other Vettes in front of me with the same issue. However my Equinox has had issues from automatic front driver window malfunction issues, rear window wiper malfunction malfunction and tire sensor issues. Took the Equinox to fix issues back in December of 2024, only the rear wipers were completely fixed, the others remained unrepaired. Today I went in for oil change for my Equinox and mentioned that the tire sensor still lit up on the dashboard. Rachel told me it would be $198 to repair, I was not happy that it was not covered so she directed me to John Fletcher, Operations Manager, what a stressful time that was. He basically told me that the car is not under warranty and that they fixed it once back in December for free but this time it will cost me. He was the rudest guy I ever met and not only condescending but also unqualified to lead a service dept. The big issue is that I do not drive either car that much, Vette has 3500 miles (0 when purchased) on it and the Equinox has 51,400 on it (49,000 when purchased) totally of 5500 between 2 cars within 1 year. Vette could end up being a lemon and the Equinox I got ripped off on due to poor maintenance evaluation prior to my cash purchase. I was visibly upset and was able to speak with GM, Whit Gilman, after the Fletcher debacle , however I was still not satisfied. Whit did offer to take care of the tire sensor but asked me to make an appointment even though the part was on site, so why not just repair it then? I believe the sales team, maybe not all, have a desire to sell vehicles at any cost and then the service department takes no responsibility when issues arise, they blame it on the manufacturer or customer which Fletcher tried to persuade to me was the case in the Vette issue, I had none of that, he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and we are all idiots. Finally Fletchers lack of empathy is beyond words. I plan on trading in the Equinox and reviewing my rights on the Lemon Law regarding the Vette. Not that they care but be assured I will not be near a Don Mealey dealership ever again unless I have to turn in the Vette there. More
