I bought my used 2018 crv from herb chambers and it was originally a good experience. I bought the oil change package when I bought the car. Last year during an oil change I had them rotate the tires as I originally a good experience. I bought the oil change package when I bought the car. Last year during an oil change I had them rotate the tires as I normally do. They told me I needed new tires so they didn’t do it. Fast forward after I purchased 4 new tires in july 2023. I go back in January for an oil change and ask them to rotate the tires. They said they didn’t need to, they were wearing even and not much wear at the time. Made sense. I just brought it in for an oil change 2 weeks ago and told them I feel something in the front end, feels like the LKA is on but its not. They charged me $169 to look and tell me that there was nothing wrong with front end but I need tires. I asked the service rep Jeff why they and he said the instrument showed severe wear. Um, ok..so I am was taken advantage of at the tire place (not) or you think im a totally idiot ( fyi- i am female too) and are a completely scummy dealership. Which seems more likely. I said well that’s interesting because those tires are less than a year old and I work at home so there is less than 10k miles on them. He came back 15 mins later and said they reevaluated and are waiving the $169 diagnostic charge and some if the tread might need attention in the future. Well thank you Herb chambers for stating the obvious. I will never go back and I will share this experience with others. Do your homework and get multiple quotes and diagnostic from different places. I have a very honest mechanic but I figured out of convenience while I was getting the oil change. Lesson learned More
