Purchased a Honda Fit in December 2020. Finance manager said he would email copies of the paperwork to both me and my spouse's email addresses. They were not received. We realized a loan payment would be said he would email copies of the paperwork to both me and my spouse's email addresses. They were not received. We realized a loan payment would be due in early January and called the dealer again (four times). We did not even know who the lender was (we knew the payment, just not who and where to send it to and what account number. We were advised Bank of America was the lender and he would send the copies to us by email or fax. Three days later, still not received. More

Great first service experience at Honda Of Ames. Service was as expected and speedy. Jerry in sales helped with a lingering question on setup of apple car play. Good place, just needs a couple minor improvements. We went to purchase a used car, I scheduled the visit the night before to make sure the car was available. I told the sales rep I would be there around went to purchase a used car, I scheduled the visit the night before to make sure the car was available. I told the sales rep I would be there around noon the next morning and then left a message the next morning I would be there around 11:00 am. My two recommended improvements are: 1. The car had been for sale for a few days but had not been cleaned from the last owner. Altjough I did purchase this vehicle,, I had left three other dealerships because they did not clean the cars they were selling. To me, this is a pride issue, why clean the after it sells rather that prior to showing it for sale. 2. When we test drove the vehicle, the owners manual was in the glove box. After they cleaned the car and we had been home a few days, I went to read the owners manual to learn about some functionality of the vehicle and the owners manual was not there. My second recommendation is to leave the owners manuals in the vehicle when cleaning the vehicle. I now have to find a set of owners manuals that appear to be about $50-$100 depending on the manuals I want to replace. Other than that, it was a good place to visit. Because on these two items I gave 4 stars. More

Honda of Ames is the absolute best to deal with, whether it’s buying a car or having one serviced. On the sales side, Our salesman. Jerry Hebrink, was very friendly, comprehensive, helpful and was genuinel it’s buying a car or having one serviced. On the sales side, Our salesman. Jerry Hebrink, was very friendly, comprehensive, helpful and was genuinely concerned that we were selecting the car that would best fit our needs. Buying a vehicle can be very stressful. But not here. We had a figure in mind as to how much we could spend. Jerry did his magic and made it work! And when it came time to drive our new car home, he thoroughly went through the operation of all its bells and whistle and told us to call if we had questions . For the next week or so, we did! And he answered them all. On the business side, Eric explained all the warranty and service options available. No pressure to add any. He just wanted to let us know and answered all our questions. He also thoroughly went over all the financing options. We added a couple options to the car that had to be ordered in. The service department got everything in within a few days and then patiently worked around our crazy schedule to get the car in. So easy to deal with. It’s service the way it should be but hard to find in many dealerships. All in all, Honda of Ames is the gold standard of car dealerships as far as we’re concerned. We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. The next time we’re in the market for a new car, we’ll be here. More
