Kevin Rafeek is great. He always takes care of me when I bring my vehicles in for service he’s. He makes sure I’m well taken care of. I feel valued as a customer. For the last 41 years, I have avoided service departments or mechanics, only because I'm pretty good at doing my own work and always have enjoyed it, as high as building drag cars when younger fo departments or mechanics, only because I'm pretty good at doing my own work and always have enjoyed it, as high as building drag cars when younger for myself, and my now "daily" 790hp Silverado. And have rebuilt every part of near every make of vehicle. So I'm usually on the side of wanting to learn it myself. "Set in my ways" if you will!🤷🏻♂️😅 Plus, everyone thinks shops aren't the same as "the good old days" anymore, let's be honest, (And no offense) we've all been there and thought that if you're old enough to remember, but, this place gave me so much hope for a positive change in my personal thought in the industry, I would trust them Full-Heartedly, and know they have your best interest in mind! On 05/28/2026, I drove my wife's Honda Passport to Southern Acura in Newport News, I met Jessica at the service desk, she was helpful, and very direct while explaining what was going to be done, and also being sweet at the same time, that's something I appreciate, I don't like someone beating around the bush and talking in circles, lol, no one does! It would have been a wait that I would have had to sit there for, however, I got to speaking with Amanda (financing, beautiful hearted lady) and Travis (the G.M, very down to earth, professional, and kind man) and they looked out for me so that I could use a loaner while the vehicle was being diagnosed and inspected. I can't explain how appreciative I am of that. And they were both just as nice as can be. They didn't have to do that for me, and I would have sat there and stuck around all day, but they did right by me. 🙏🏻 That is something that the world has lost; is people being just decent and true. I truly felt that with them three along with the couple gentlemen I met in the service department, and they were a very knowledgeable group of guys. And I want to give a special shout out independently to a lovely lady named Teresa. She is the lady who got me in a loaner and did the paperwork, and the whole time, was up front with me, but she joked along with me, the same as I was joking with her. She was very refreshing! Nowadays when you go into most any place, people act like they are mad because they have an opportunity to have a job and are able to make money, I can't figure that one out, haha, She was nothing at all like that, she smiled from the second I met her, 'til the second I pulled away in the loaner vehicle. (I'm just sad that I missed her when I brought the vehicle back, because I definitely would have given her a hug, just for being such a ray of sunshine in a world that has seemed to lost its way, she cheered up my whole day by her happiness, because I'm usually the one who tries to build happiness and morale in others. It was nice to receive it in return. I pray the world can turn into a tenth of the positivity that she shared with me in that 15 minutes or so.) In closing, I would definitely suggest this service department/dealership to anyone I know or who may be reading this review, even if you live further away like myself. The team there, Jessica, Amanda, Travis, (unfortunately I forgot the guys names in the shop, but they are on this list.) and Teresa were WONDERFUL people. I may not have been there to purchase a vehicle and it was shop related, however, it was a whole team from different departments that came together as a TEAM and helped me out, ("well oiled machine!") but they have very beautiful vehicles, so one day, I may just break down and get me one of those Acura Integra Type S's,👀😅 The Integra that I had as a loaner was a very comfortable vehicle, (I'm 6'5", and 270lbs, plenty of room if any bigger guys read this, you'll fit. Lol.) but this review is more to focus on the people that work there. Not enough good things I can say, and they really have restored my faith in the car industry/shop industry. Thank you, Team Southern Acura of N.N., y'all have a customer now! More
