This is a very unfortunate incident between Kia Finance and our customer. For customer privacy reasons Kia Finance will not let our staff speak on behalf of the customer. The Nutley Kia staff had multiple conversations advising our customer what they needed to do in an attempt to satisfy the Kia Finance requirement linking a previous purchase to a current purchase despite the fact that the buyer name and address was different between the two transactions. To protect the privacy of our customer we will not go into further detail. Unfortunately this customer was unwilling or unable to provide the necessary information to have the charges from Kia Finance waived. While our staff is in complete agreement that our customer has a valid case to fight these charges, we could not have done any more to help them fight this fight.

The Ownership and Staff here at Nutley Kia take tremendous pride in how we conduct ourselves and our business. This is a true family business. Both owners (wife and husband) are directly involved in day to day operations and our staff of 35 employees have a clear understanding that honesty, integrity and customer interaction is our primary responsibility --- every day. Our company growth has been built on repeat and customer referral business. Our staff feels terrible about the situation this customer is in. There was no attempt to deceive our customer in any way. For customer privacy reasons dealership staff does not have access to customer payment records. In the words of a Kia Corporate Customer Service Representative “this was a tragedy of errors because the customer lost track of their lease term. Knowing the reputation of Nutley Kia, Corporate understands this is not a business practice of this dealership. ” Our customer had offered to Kia Corporate to work out a payment plan to handle the deficiencies from their previous lease. Unfortunately, despite their attempts, Kia Corporate does not have the ability to make any changes to an existing contract. We also had extensive conversation with Kia Corporate in an attempt to find a solution to this issue. Never in our history have we had an issue like this. This posting is a complete misrepresentation of how this transaction transpired. Out of respect for customer privacy we will not get into specifics as to what actually occurred with our staff and our Owner – it would be disrespectful and unprofessional to our customer.

ronav: Out of respect for your privacy, I will not go into much detail re your vehicle purchase. Your frustration was completely caused by your inability to produce a registration to transfer out of state plates onto your new vehicle (as you had requested). When you finally told us to forget the transfer and have new plates issued we were unable to obtain your new plates prior to the expiration of you temporary plate. The State of NJ does not allow a us to issue a 2nd temporary plate in this circumstance. We were able to expedite your plates but did no receive them until a week after your 20 day temporary plate. I apologize that you had to go thorough this experience. We always appreciate constructive criticism do whatever we can to provide Best in Class service. In this particular situation there is nothing we could have done to obtain new plates for you prior to the expiration of your temporary plate.
