Deceptive, dishonest, no integrity nor ethics Went in to purchase a used 07 Nissan 350z. Car cosmetically needed alot of work, bumpers and body lines were off from it being in two accidents, paint was faded and scratched up, interior le aw ther was dry and the dash and interior panels had an old fake chrome overlay applied with 3M double sided adhesive. These pieces were dry rotted and discolored from the sun due to the car being a convertible. I told my sales person the more I looked at it the less I wanted it. That is when another salesman and a the sales manager told me that while the car is flawed cosmetically it was perfect mechanically and I could address the cosmetic issues as I had time if I bought the car. So I purchased the car, spent over 16 hours just on the outside having spent $160 on top quality products such as clay bar kit, compound polish, glaze, wax, cutting pads, polishing pads, microfiber towels. Soaps, leather cleaners and conditioners, interior plastic cleaner and restorer, rubber and trim restorer. Also spent money on 5 quarts Mobil 1 EP and a Mobil 1 oil filter, a PCV valve, and 2 quarts of Amsoil severe gear rear differential fluid specifically for this cars ring and pinion gears and VLSD rear end. After the 16 hour paint restoration was completed, I started on the interior the next day, another 6-8 hours of removing faded and cracked faux chrome dash kit overlay and 3M double sided adhesive. This was all done carefully and slowly as not to damage the plastics and rubber the kit was covering underneath. The dash, center console, and door panels were cleaned and protected with a UV treatment, the leather seats were worked on for an hour a piece, working/massaging natural oils, lanolin, and vitamin E as you would into your own dry skin to restore the color and suppleness of the leather. Next the storage area or boot for the convertible top was cleaned of all it dirt, leaves, bugs and so on, followed by the trunk, and finally the engine bay which was wiped down with several damp microfibers and a toothbrush to remove all the dirt from the top side of the compartment. As I then put the car up onto a set of ramps and removed the skid plate, I found old and new oil leaks coming from the valve cover gaskets, the oil cooler seal, and the power steering pump. They were quite bad. I snapped some pictures and sent them over to love Honda, and they asked me to bring the car in, so I did. A mechanic put it on the lift and acted as if it was all new news to him, but my extended warranty (that I purchased for an additional $2000) they were going to try to is to claim these repairs. The extended warranty company found a report from love Honda from a month ago that stated they inspected the car and found these problems back then, so my warranty company would not cover them due to them being noted as pre-existing.. oh, and the check engine light had came on twice in this time (code 0420, catalytic converter failure bank 1 drivers side) , once they simply reset instead of hooking up a scan tool and diagnosing the issue with the scan tools abilities to show when the code came on, at what RPM, at what speed, the temperature of the catalytic converter, the readings from the O2 sensors, the square waves to show the function of the catalytic converter. The dealership knew the entire time that these issues existed with the car as it was stated in a inspection report from when they took the car in. However they lied to me, my wife, and my two 16 year old children; management down, telling me the car was mechanically perfect when they knew it had major issues. What it the power steering would have failed while my wife or child was negotiating a u turn or a left hand turn? They could have been seriously injured or killed. The management and the dealership as a whole was not willing to be honorable and stand behind their word, their promise that this car was mechanically perfect and fix the issues they knew about. Instead, they took the car back, gave me back my trade which when traded in was perfect but was given back to me full of mud and with two small scratches (my trade was a brand new but left over Goldwing). While they got the loan origination fee of $100 to be waived by my financial institution so I wouldn't have to pay it back, I still have to pay back a 5% charge on the warranty cancellation which is $100, plus the money for the all the detailing products $160, plus the $40 for the Amsoil rear gear oil, and $40 for the 5 quarts of Mobil 1 5w-30 extended performance, and the Mobil 1 oil filter, not to mention other miscellaneous parts, and especially my time and my children's time helping, as well as my skill to get this car to were it is now cosmetically. They got our Hope's up, then stressed us out, caused some depression, sadness, and anger. When it was all done the dealership cut me a insulting check for $200 for all this. Them they lied one last time saying they were gonna send this car to auction due to it being in 2 prior accidents and not having a clean carfax and all the mechanical issues. Instead, they put the car back on their lot hoping to catch a sucker, at least the car looks good now and they are charging more for it when you read the fine print, most likely because I mad either look and present as a much better taken care of car. Buyer beware, it is my educated guess that they cleared the check engine code for the bad catalytic converter system and it will come on in 60 miles but they wont cover it even though they know about it. Lastly, this was my second attempt at buying from love honda. A year ago I went to them to purchase a new 2018 Honda Civic Si. They were $5000 higher than Ocala Honda was so they lost my business. Only reason I went back to give them another shot was because the General Manager called me after they failed miserably on their attempt to sell me the civic and told me if I gave them another shot, he would personally guarantee that it would be worth my while and he would go out of his way to make it a perfect experience...what a croc. I ended up going to Deluca Toyota and bought a brand new 2019 86, and was treated like a rock star from the moment I walked in. I've bought over 45 new cars over the last 20 years and over 15 motorcycles/funn machines...over 10 new cars in the last 14 months alone. 17' pathfinder platinum from Harbor Nissan 18' Mazda CX-9 from Jenkins 18' Genesis sedan from Jenkins 18' Honda Civic Si from Ocala Honda 18' Ram 1500 crew cab 5.7l hemi sport from Phillip's Dodge 18' Dodge Charger SRT 392 from Phillip's 18' Kia Stinger GT2 from Citrus Kia 19' Dodge Ram Larimie longhorn from Plaza dodge 14' Genesis 5.0 R-Spec sedan with 11,000 miles from Plaza dodge 19' Toyota 86 from Deluca. I might be missing a car or two in there as I trade alot, and tire of some or find out after 1000 or so miles that the car isnt what I hoped for. But no dealership, not even buy here pay here places that I bought from when I was 18 years old and had no credit ever treated me like this. No dealership was ever this dishonest and deceptive. Stay clear. More
