Herb Chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT of Danvers is a complete joke of a car dealership. Their staff is unhelpful and their prices are ridiculous. I submitted my contact information to the dealersh a complete joke of a car dealership. Their staff is unhelpful and their prices are ridiculous. I submitted my contact information to the dealership letting them know that I was interested in the vehicle. When I submitted my information, the dealership’s website showed a $12,000 discount to the MSRP. Soniayh from the dealership contacted me back the next day saying that the vehicle is “available and ready for immediate delivery”. I pointed out to her that the website shows that the vehicle is currently in transit to their dealership and asked her to confirm. She replied letting me know that I was correct, and that she would let me know once the vehicle is available. It seems that I, as a customer, know more about what vehicles are on their lot than they do. It’s a good thing I knew this because if I had taken her up on her offer to come in, I would have wasted my time going there only to discover that they didn’t have it yet. Eight days later (which seems like a long time for a vehicle to be in transit), Soniayh from the dealership contacted me again saying that the vehicle is now available and asked if I would like to come in for a test drive. Coincidentally, the $12,000 discount was now not mentioned anywhere on their website. Nonetheless, I scheduled a time to go into the dealership to see the vehicle in person and test drive it. When I arrived at the dealership, despite having an appointment scheduled, it seemed like nobody was expecting me. People included on the meeting invite were Steve, Lucas, Corey, and Soniayh, but I was set up with salesperson Joe when I got there, who is quite honestly the most low-energy car salesperson I’ve ever met. During the initial intake, he asked me several questions more than once, as if he had forgotten that he already asked. Joe then took me on the test drive, during which he didn’t seem to know much about the vehicle I was testing because many of his answers to my questions were “I don’t know” or “I think so but I’m not sure”. Also, during the test drive, he was sitting in the back seat and he appeared to be watching videos on his phone during at least part of the drive because I could hear the audio coming from his phone. My father was also with me on the test drive, and when he asked Joe a question, he took about two minutes to answer, likely because he was distracted by whatever he was watching on his phone. Back at the dealership, Joe brought over Will (presumably the finance manager) to discuss pricing. When I asked him about the $12,000 discount that had mysteriously disappeared from their website the day before they invited me in for the test drive, he knew nothing about it, and made many excuses placing the blame on me, saying things like maybe I was looking at a different vehicle, or a used vehicle, or that I was looking at a different dealership altogether, none of which were true. It’s truly sad that the finance manager wasn’t familiar with the dealership’s own incentives. When I explained to him that I was counting on that discount, which was clearly advertised on their website, the most he was willing to come down was $3,000, which is practically nothing off a vehicle that costs over $118,000, and a small fraction of the discount I was expecting. I’ve done my research on Jeep and I know their vehicles are not selling. I also know that Jeep is an unreliable brand and that I can get an actual luxury vehicle (Lincoln, Lexus, Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes, etc.) for the same price as they are asking for a Jeep. It’s a shame that Will was not willing to budge on the price (which is already overpriced compared to the competition). I would have liked to buy their vehicle, but if I’m going to spend well over $100 grand on a new car, I’ll just stick stick with an actual luxury car brand, and one that has a history of being more reliable than Jeep. We were first met at the store by General Manager Travis McCarthy, couldn’t have been more of a gentleman. We were surprised by his knowledge after he told us he has only been with the store for 3 weeks, never pressured us and made sure we were very comfortable before turning us over to our salesperson Joe Lusso, who answered all of our questions and helped my wife feel comfortable with the car. Will in finance was very expeditious and thorough, ensuring that we got all of the right coverage and the best bank. He really looked out for us treating us as family instead of just another customer! If you are in the market for a Jeep, Ram, Dodge or Chrysler, I would definitely drive by your closest store and go see these guys! More
