Things when south quick when the finance manager Joey got involved. Joey initially repeatedly refused to give me the OTD price with my banks financing. He kept trying to pressure me to use Kia financing even though I clearly and repeatedly told him multiple times that I wouldn’t be using them. Finally he runs the numbers with my banks financing, and the paper he handed me had the OTD price over $11k more than the listed price on the website! I asked him to explain where this $11k+ increase came from and he proceeded to give me the run around, stating it was delivery, dealer fees and “tax, state stuff I can’t change”. Tax/tag/title/registration was <$4k, and Kias financing rebate was $2k (I was using bank financing), so there’s a mystery $5k floating around in the price. I then tried to negotiate a price that was $1k above MSRP and he repeatedly told me I wasn’t “being realistic”. So in good faith, I came up to $3k above MSRP and he literally told me I need to go talk to a financial advisor. I was also told “this isn’t how you negotiate and do business”. He told me he takes a loss on every single car he sells (lie), but refuses to budge his price of $5k over MRSP for this car. Meanwhile outside there’s over 25 of this make/model/year, so clearly they’re not flying off the shelves. Maybe if the staff were more reasonable and not playing games with prices, they’d move more inventory? I walked out when he tried to be slick and give me an attractive offer, but contingent with Kia financing. Mind you we never talked about credit score/rates/loan terms. Literally the most condescending, snotty and unprofessional salesman I’ve EVER had the stark misfortune of encountering. Joey was argumentative, dismissive and just overall a stubborn and slimy salesman. You can guarantee I will tell my friends, family and coworkers to never use Kia of Port Charlotte because of this guy. Unfortunate too because I very likely would’ve purchased a vehicle here if Joey hadn’t been the sales associate. Also worth noting, I went to Kia of Ft Myers later the same day and got the same exact car, for the same exact price I initially asked Joey for ($1k above MSRP). Also got a free PolySteel (interior/exterior ceramic coat) and 2 free oil changes. So who was really being unrealistic? More

Bought used 2025 Chevy Traverse. Upon test drive noticed that the service transmission light had come on. Two days after taking delivery the service transmission and check engine lights came on and stayed on. Returned car for service, which I don’t think was ever checked before original delivery. Car was eventually taken to Gettel Chevrolet as it was still under factory warranty through Chevrolet. Kia did ask if that was ok which was fine with us. Didn’t hear anything for two days from Kia so I reached out to get a status. There was actually an active recall in regards to transmission and shifting software. My question is why was this never taken care of before our car ever hit the used lot and had already been advertised for sale, which is how we discovered it at Kia of Port Charlotte. The Salesman and Manager were nice but I felt like they were just telling us what we wanted to hear. Again I don’t think that the car was ever brought into service before delivery because the would have discovered the active recall and found out that the warning lights previously would have been in memory when service scanned the car. Overall I think there is much room for improvement and I don’t think I would return to buy another car or recommend Kia of Port Charlotte. More

Austen, our salesperson was friendly; not super knowledgeable, but responsive. Unfortunately, everyone else has been very negligent in responding after the sale was completed. We were encouraged to sign up for a Platinum membership at the time of sale because he told us we could not sign up for it "after the sale", but assured that we could cancel immediately after we researched it if we decided we didn't want the extra coverage. We called to cancel and were told we had to stop by in person to make the request. We did. A month later, we had not received the refund. We called and spoke with a Finance Assistant, and she told us that she could see no evidence of the request but that she would personally take care of it. I gave her the paperwork she requested. She indicated she had received it, but we've heard nothing since and it's now been 2 1/2 months since the sale. Another agent promised referrals for body work we wanted done. We originally came to see a certified pre owned vehicle. As we were driving from 2.5 hours away with a baby, we spoke with Annie (sales) ahead of time and told her what we wanted and didn’t want to play any As we were driving from 2.5 hours away with a baby, we spoke with Annie (sales) ahead of time and told her what we wanted and didn’t want to play any games. She was not able to give us an out the door price over the phone because “they usually don’t do that” but she told us she would speak with finance and get us a ballpark number before we got there. She had 2.5 hours to call us back, but instead, she called us 15 minutes before we got there to let us know she was going to get lunch and she would be back in 30 minutes. Never mentioned anything about a price. When we got there, they took our licenses to run our credit and we waited about 30 minutes before she came out and said “there’s been a little snag with the car you came to see”. Apparently, they went to put the car in the service bay for another inspection (car is a 2026 demo with only 7k miles and has always been on their lot) and during the inspection, a bad sensor was found on one of the passenger doors that they would need to fix but the part would get there over the weekend. Annie was unsure if we would be able to test drive it, but offered for us to drive a brand new car same model and color. After we test drove the brand new car, we drove around to the used car lot and found the car with a flat tire, inside door panel completely removed and lying inside the vehicle, and outer door panel removed as well. Not only would we not be able to purchase the vehicle that day (which we drove 2.5 hours for) but we couldn’t even test drive it! To try and make things right, she brought us inside to “see what they could work out” with a new vehicle. CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH!! We were able to purchase a brand new vehicle for the right price and they ended up paying my trade in off, but that’s not all! When we finally went to leave 5 hours later, the battery was dead. And instead of offering to change the battery, a gentleman (not sure if his name) said he would just jump it and it would charge as we drove home! I He said he couldn’t get us a new battery because the parts department was closed. Meanwhile, there’s a lot with hundreds of brand new vehicles that they could’ve taken one from. Fortunately, Annie was able to contact someone from the parts department who came back and replaced the battery. But wait, it’s gets better! Once we were finally able to leave and we started to drive off, I tried to wash the windshield but no fluid came out. My husband looked under the hood and there was no fluid! So we stopped in the gas station across the street and bought washer fluid. Again, no fluid came out. My husband stepped out and saw the fluid spraying out from the wheel well! Being it was now 8pm and we still had a 2.5 hour drive back, and the dealership was already closed, we decided we would get it looked at at a local dealership once we got home. I attempted to call Annie the next day, but never received a call back. On Monday, i brought the vehicle to my local Kia dealership for service and after inspection was told that a rodent (most likely a squirrel) had chewed through the washer fluid line in 3 places!!! And of course, it wasn’t covered by warranty and would cost $616 to repair!! I explained that this had to have happened on the dealership lot and there was no way I would pay for it to be fixed. The service advisor attempted to contact Kia of port charlotte for HOURS on that Monday and was constantly placed on hold. I finally left and would come back when the issue was resolved. The following day, I decided to try and call as well. After being on hold for 20 minutes, I hung up and called back and spoke with Joey (sales manager). After getting upset with him, he hung up on me! He later called me back and told me the only way to have this resolved is if I drove it back there to get it fixed. Somehow, my local dealership was able to get port charlotte to pay for the repair. First and last Kia purchase! More
