Unethical, Unprofessional Sales Manager Is it common practice for the Sales Manager to sell a vehicle out from under the customer who is in negotiations with the Salesman and has put a depos Is it common practice for the Sales Manager to sell a vehicle out from under the customer who is in negotiations with the Salesman and has put a deposit down on that vehicle? I had an appointment to see and test drive this vehicle (which we did) this evening. The Salesman (John D.) was extremely professional, we discussed price, put down a deposit and another Salesman ran into the office we were in, grabbed the key (without John D's knowledge) and another customer took the same vehicle for a test ride while we signing off on the contract. I attempted to speak to the Sales Manager so he could explain to me what was going on and I had to wait for him to finish sealing the deal with the other customer....needless to say, we lost the truck. The Sales Manager is unethical and extremely unprofessional which affects Hawthorne Chevrolet's customers and salesman alike. My advice to the owner, you need to get a new Sales Manager, someone professional. More
