Although my delivery is not complete, as I will not be taking delivery for a few days, my experience with Honda Cars of Boston and John Fitzpatrick was great. I had not purchased a vehicle in 12 years, so I was apprehensive about heading to the dealer without an excel spreadsheet and millions of columns of comparative figures. I was refereed to John Fitzpatrick by a close friend who has purchased 3 honda's from John. The transaction was simple, the price was great and the personality of John really added to the "user experience" If you want a new or used Honda my recommendation would be to go directly to Honda Cars of Boston, ask specifically for John Fitzpatrick and you will leave with a smile on your face. Granted you will have a lighter wallet but you will have the vehicle you wanted at the price that you would not get anywhere else and simply put, as John say's it's a "No Brainer" ... I drive all the way from Gloucester to Everett because I just trust this dealership and their service. Since I am a daily commuter and put a lot of mileage on my car, I decided to trade in for another Civic. I obviously went back to Fitzy, and am obviously happy once again! John is determined to make his customers happy, and more important, comfortable with their purchase. He worked with me to find a quality used Civic that matched my needs and price point. John Fitzpatrick is a great car salesman. It is obvious that he enjoys his job. But I think the best thing about Fitzy is that he is a genuinely happy guy who wants to make your car buying experience the best possible! I had a difficult time coming to grips with the fact that I needed a new car. I was dreading the car shopping experience and the stress that I was about to endure. I had decided that I wanted a used Honda I needed a new car. I was dreading the car shopping experience and the stress that I was about to endure. I had decided that I wanted a used Honda Civic and am sad to say that my journey didn't start with Honda Cars of Boston. I instead started at Bernardi Honda in Natick. I was very dissatisfied with my experience. The salesman I worked with (Mohammad "Mo" Ali) was extremely rude and very self centered. On a test drive he answered a personal phone call without asking so he could make plans with his friend and was 35 minutes late to an appointment we had the next day. After bringing the car I was interested in to my mechanic, he argued every point and ignored my concerns, he was more interested in talking about how great a salesman he was than talking about what I needed or the car I was interested in. After I walked out on the sale I was very upset that I would have to start the process over. Little did I realize how silly those feelings were, because it was the best thing that could have happened to me. The next place I went to was Honda Cars of Boston, which would end up being the last place I would need to go to. I was immediately greeted by John Fitzpatrick. It sounds very self centered, I know, but in this car buying experience I wanted it to be about me and didn't want to feel like an after thought. It has now been five days since I purchased my car and I am still getting check in phone calls from John. The last thing I feel like is an after thought. John was great at giving my girlfriend and I space while we browsed. He even let us take a test drive alone (I thought that was a nice touch). I was upfront with him about some issues with my trade in and felt like he was upfront with me as well. When I felt like I wasn't getting a great price John was willing to work with me until we came to a fair agreement. This was my first car buying experience and John took great care of me. He treated me with a kindness and respect throughout the entire experience. John Fitzpatrick is a great salesman (who is modest enough to not bring it up). I don't feel ripped off or taken advantage of and feel like I have built a great relationship with someone that I will come back to for years. I can not recommend Honda Cars of Boston or John Fitzpatrick enough. Make this your first stop. More

We recently bought an Odyssey from Honda Cars of Boston and had an excellent experience. I can't say enough good things about John (Fitzy), who was our sales rep. He was honest, not pushy, remarkably friendly and asked lots of questions to make sure he understood what we wanted. He even followed up with us after the sale to make sure everything was OK. The laughable part of this was that we had initially gone to HCB to get a new car based on the fact that they sold us our original Odyssey in 2004 (and we had a great experience then too). In this case, I told them what I wanted and the price I wanted to pay/trade-in (based on research) and we came to a deal quickly. The only drawback was that they did not have the color we wanted. They said that they could order it, but it would take a few weeks. Since we wanted the car now, we decided to look elsewhere. What a mistake!! We checked out several other dealers and kept getting the runaround. One dealer in particular (in Lawrence) told us to come in and that they would give us the deal we had made with HCB. However, once we got there, they said they needed to lower our trade-in by 30% (which was much lower than any book value we found). It was just an unnecessarily stressful experience. Needless to say, we walked out and called HCB back. From that point on, it was a dream. HCB ordered the car we wanted and in three weeks it came in. They honored the original deal and trade-in number (even though we put another 1,000 miles on the car). What I liked most was that I never felt like I was getting "sold" on anything. They respected the research I had done but countered with research of their own (and showed me exactly what they were using) and we came to a price that was great for me and made them money. It is how an auto sale is supposed to work. While everyone was great, John still deserves the highest praise. If you see him, tell him to show you the framed photos from his Vegas trip. Not to be missed. More
