The Better Car Negotiation Experience I've Had I am in the market for a small van and found the (almost) perfect one. Firstly, I knew I was in the right place when my senses were not assaulted by hard rock/R & B music blasting in the showroom, an obvious tactic used to disorient and confuse the potential buyer, tipping the sales scales in favor of the more nefarious dealerships. Salesman Jon DeNick met me at the door in a low key, no nonsense, professional manner which started off our negotiations on good footing. With great economy, Jon escorted me to the exact van I was looking for and even offered a better price for which I had originally planned to counter! Wow! The only roadblock to deal finalization was a lending institution rule which I feel we can overcome. I look forward to continued negotiations which will finalize our purchase deal. My only minor gripe would be the gentle sales pressure to start their Allied Financing immediately, a tactic I did not fully understand until I gave it much thought during my drive home. Too convoluted to explain here. But, overall, my experience was probably the best in all my years of car buying so I will continue to negotiate until I purchase the vehicle I need. More
