Carman Chrysler Jeep Dodge responded

The issue we had with this customer was caused by us, our new young cashier made a $2800 error on his repair order. The customer had a Jeep Lift done in our service department and only paid the the Labor end of the repair. The cashier missed the notes and the parts end of the repair for the lift kit and tires. We tried reaching the customer and left numerous messages, no response. So we had no choice to have him contacted by the authorities. Mr. Gregory, I could agree that I might of seemed a little aggressive to collect the balance of the money that you owed. That is due to the fact that we tried calling numerous times to your job and cell phone , we never received a call back. So I had no choice but to call the police to have them assist me in getting this matter resolved. The police had stated you would be calling us to work this matter out, I never heard back. Yes, the mistake was from my young cashier in not collecting the total amount. I'm sure you were aware that the amount was incorrect? Let me know how you would of handled it?? Joe

Joe, I did notice the difference in price and questioned the cashier telling her that is not what I was originally quoted. She responded with "you are a preferred customer". I then asked one of your employees walk me out to my jeep to make sure the work I had requested was actually completed. I then walked back into the dealership, paid the bill and was handed my keys. I understand you have a job to do. However, you put unnecessary blame on me along with getting the police involved. In answering your question on how I would have handled it, I suggest you question your employees next time before blaming a customer. The breakdown was on your end at the dealership, not on my end.
