Breake serivice I had great service, however, when I picked up my vehicle after having the brakes services, I found that they felt worse then when I brought it in. T I had great service, however, when I picked up my vehicle after having the brakes services, I found that they felt worse then when I brought it in. They were real spongy and I had to push the pedal to the floor in order to stop. Called my service rep and had to bring it back the next day. Just feel someone should have drove the car and paid attention to make sure the repair that was just completed for completed properly. I could have been in an accident. More

Overall Poor Experience We have purchased five vehicles with Sands Chevrolet in Surprise over the past eight years. Sometimes the service department is hit or miss. Saturda We have purchased five vehicles with Sands Chevrolet in Surprise over the past eight years. Sometimes the service department is hit or miss. Saturday was definitely a fail. We brought our 2004 vehicle in for an oil change using the $8.88 coupon. It is an older vehicle; however, mechanically sound. Our appointment was for 7:15 am Saturday morning. We were at the appointment by 7:00 am and waited for the vehicle. We spent an hour waiting before we were told the vehicle needed an alignment, which we declined. After another half hour, our service advisor came in to give us a laundry list of problems with our vehicle including insulting us by saying, "I don't think this vehicle has ever had a tune up." Not the way to treat anyone let alone repeat customers. Our vehicle was finished in an hour and forty five minutes. We provided the coupon that then went to double the price. Of course we were told it was due to disposal fees and tax. "Plus tax" is clearly displayed. The other fees are not prominent. We unceremoniously walked unaccompanied to our vehicle where the paper number was left in the dash for us to throw away. I realized once I started the car someone had changed our radio station and the equalizer in our stereo. They had also rifled through our console and stolen items that we kept in the car. The items stolen had little monetary value; however, after the poor treatment it was the last straw with this dealership. Save yourself the time and frustration and take your car elsewhere. The fast oil change places may cost more, but respects your time and has you out in 30 minutes. They won't insult your automobile and they don't steal from you. Shame on you Sands. More

My call to Sands Chevrolet was completely different. Ken Ashby fielded my call, set the appointment, and answered my additional question. I met Ken at the appointed time at Sands Chevrolet. He was friendly and made the process easy. AND Ken and the service staff finished the work on my truck in less time than they had projected! I'll be back! More

Return visit to correct problem with previous service I had my vehicle in for service, a warranty claim, and new tires in Sept. Total bill in excess of $3200. Work performed required two days. After t I had my vehicle in for service, a warranty claim, and new tires in Sept. Total bill in excess of $3200. Work performed required two days. After the service, the car was parked in my garage for approx. 8 weeks while I was out of town. Mileage logged since service, approx. 200 miles. When I returned home, I discovered the right rear tire flat. I returned the vehicle to correct the problem. I was disappointed that after spending an excessive amount of time and money that I had to return the vehicle. I was more disappointed with your service dept on the second visit because all I asked was that the tire be repaired. Unfortunately, your service personnel decided to do a complete vehicle inspection, including alignment, that certainly was not necessary given the amount of time and miles since the first visit. Also, the mechanic had a difficult time finding the reason for the leak. Finally a bad valve stem was discovered. After my insistence, all valve stems were looked at and a second one was found defective. Total time spent in your dealership for a simple flat tire was in excess of 2.5 hours. Also, after I was told all was ok, I discovered while driving out of the lot that the low tire pressure warning was illuminated. Why didn't your technician notice this when he drove the vehicle to the parking lot? In summary, I was satisfied with my first visit, but not with the second. I had the impression that you were looking for some reason to do additional maintanence on my vehicle that was in your shop only 200 miles earlier resulting in a wait of over 2.5 hours. All I wanted was to have the leak repaired. Given the difficulty in finding the tire leak, reluctance to check all the other valve stems, and not noticing the tire low warning light on after repairs leads me to question how good the original service performed at a total cost of over $3200 was. Great understanding of what needed to be done Service writer made it very clear what services needed to be performed as well as what recalls needed to be corrected. Only thing I wish I saw more of Service writer made it very clear what services needed to be performed as well as what recalls needed to be corrected. Only thing I wish I saw more of was an after action type run thru with either the mechanic or service writer showing you what was done on your vehicle. This also provides a last look to ensure nothing was missed during the service. More
