We went back and forth about writing this review, but after taking some time to reflect, we felt sharing our experience might help other out-of-state buyers avoid a similar situation. We traveled from Missouri after spending nearly two weeks speaking with the dealership about a vehicle we were very excited about. It felt like we had found the perfect car. We asked multiple times about its condition and specifically requested that any interior or exterior flaws be disclosed. The team sent photos and videos and repeatedly assured us that the vehicle was very clean, with only a few minor imperfections that had already been pointed out. Because of those conversations, we felt we could trust what we were being told and decided not to hire a third-party inspector. Plus, they spoke highly of themselves, stating to us that "we are trustworthy people and we are not out here to scam anyone we have a 5 star review." We booked expensive flights, rented a car, and made the trip with confidence that the vehicle would match its description. Unfortunately, when we arrived, it became clear that there was significantly more damage than we had been told about. While some additional exterior scratches were not a major concern, the interior was another story. Several if not all, trim pieces were deeply gouged, and the rear hatch area had extensive gauges and damage that could not simply be repaired or buffed out. We were incredibly disappointed. Not just because we didn't get the car, but because we had invested so much time, money, and trust into the process. We ultimately decided to walk away from the purchase. To be fair, the salesperson was apologetic and seemed genuinely sorry that these issues had not been disclosed. We do believe he was being sincere. What was most difficult for us was the response from management. After traveling so far and spending a significant amount of money on flights, a rental car, and other travel expenses, we asked if there was anything they could do to help. The response felt very cold and dismissive, ending with little more than "no, there is no where for me to put that money to and have a good day." If it was me, I would've pulled money out of my own pocket if it was truly a mistake, but they just didn't seem to care about that, sorry was enough for them. They did offer to reduce the price of the vehicle by $500. However, given the extent of the interior damage that we discovered, a price reduction was not enough to address our concerns or make the vehicle a viable option for us. More than anything, we left feeling disappointed that the condition of the car had not been accurately communicated before we made the trip. We understand that mistakes happen, and we're not writing this review out of anger. We're writing it because we wish someone had told us what we learned the hard way: if you're purchasing a vehicle from out of state, no matter how honest and trustworthy a dealership may seem, it's worth investing in an independent inspection before making the trip. It could save you a lot of disappointment and expense. More
