Mike Keane in sales was always responsive. Finance mgr Carrie Bickford tried to scam me with extra phantom $500 “pre owned fee” NEVER discussed in previous conversations when I specifically asked all cost Carrie Bickford tried to scam me with extra phantom $500 “pre owned fee” NEVER discussed in previous conversations when I specifically asked all costs and fees. The etching fee ?? Could’ve been a great experience but really soured with the scam. They did refund the fee after I complained. No response from sr mgmt after their “contact me with any issues” emails. Tried to give business during this COVID time and get a good, straight deal but someone couldn’t resist the scam. I would’ve been recommender but not after that. More

Trade in I feel my trade in was stolen. I traded in twice the car I purchased due to down-sizing. Sometimes dealers can take it on the chin and give back. They I feel my trade in was stolen. "Nightmare" This is my 3rd car as a loyal customer with Hawthorne Chevrolet (HC) Within LESS than 24hrs of purchasing my used Chevy Trail Blazer (which was servi This is my 3rd car as a loyal customer with Hawthorne Chevrolet (HC) Within LESS than 24hrs of purchasing my used Chevy Trail Blazer (which was serviced by HC for the life of the vehicle) my family and I came to the realization that the transmission was inoperable. When driving the vehicle on the highway it lost power and all of the transmission fluid had leaked out B4 our eyes. I had the vehicle towed from route 208 N right back to Hawthorne Chevrolet thinking that they would fix it without any questions asked??? Not only did they say it was "Sold as is and not responsible", they charged me $750 to replace all of the lines thinking that would be the solution. After picking up the car when the transmission lines were done, within minutes on my drive home the transmission was slipping again. The vehicle was taken directly back to Hawthorne Chevrolet. Steven in service had told me that 3rd gear was slipping and recommended a re-manufactured transmission. Hawthorne Chevrolet then proceeded to tell me that it’s going to cost me $3000 plus tax out of my own pocket. I just purchased a car for $6300, why should I have to put in new lines ($750) + a new transmission ($3000) with in less than 24 hours of owning the vehicle, especially when they claimed to have serviced the vehicle for the past 13 years. Being that said they obviously knew that the transmission was no good when selling the vehicle to me. So to sum things up, I bought a car and was unable to drive within 24hrs of its purchase. They refused to give me a loaner and fix it at their expense. I have been spending $50/day on Uber to get back and forth each day for work; I am also paying for insurance for a car that has been sitting in their lot for 2 weeks. Why should I have to put $4000 into a car with in less than 24hrs of owning? This is out right unfair and just bad business. Especially that this is my 3rd car from them. You would think they would want to help a loyal customer. This is not fair. What would you do???? Michael More

I previously was thi I first contacted Hawthorne Chevy to have service done to my avalanche. They’ve got me in very quickly and resolve my issues. I previously was thinking about trading the avalanche in for a Tahoe that would more currently serve my needs. Because of their service, it sold me on the spot to look at certified pre-owned Tahoe‘s.
