For all of our customers, we know that there are varying levels of emotion involved, almost all of which are positive when it comes to our customers here. It's how we've become the largest volume Chevy dealer in the tri-state. While we always can replace a new car to make a customer happy when he/she gets to a car a little late, it is not possible with a pre-owned car or truck. If a customer decides to go beyond the "putting a deposit" on a pre-owned vehicle, and is willing to complete the purchase and take delivery the same day with $$ in hand and/or sufficient credit, then it's only good business for an establishment to move forward with that circumstance, and we stand by that decision, knowing other potential customers who read this will agree.

Dear Hawthorn Chevrolet, The response from the Dealership is proof positive that there is a serious problem with the Dealership's Customer Focus. Your response does not accurately reflect what I experienced at your dealership and it's obvious that you simply do not care due to the fact that you are defending the Sales Manager's actions. The "right" thing to do would of been to do your "homework" and apologize to the customer. This response certainly reflects poor customer service and nothing less than the Dealership's overblown Ego. I will be sure to share your response with GM Corporate as a followup to my most recent experience.

To "Bob" and other public viewers...While this tangential occurrence did not result in the desired outcome for the lease returnee, this is not a sales-related visit that should be an event qualifying for a review score. Typically, at most large volume dealerships like this one (largest volume Chevy dealer in NJ,) yes, customers are encouraged to make an appointment to return their lease, even considering cases where the lessee did not lease the car from our dealership. Given the totality of lease returns these days, it does help toward the effort of setting aside ample time to address various questions and concerns a lessee might have, and reduce the wait time while here to complete the process. As "Bob" states, obviously that did not matter here, as our rep accommodated the return on the spot, no wait, even with no appointment. However, the dealership does not interfere with items that are best addressed directly with the leasing bank, as in this case, where an alteration was asked to be made to the car after it was inspected by the leasing bank. it is not any dealership's policy to perform that work. We're sure potential, reasonable customers reading the elongated message above will agree and see it for the emotional reflex it actually is.

The response from the Dealership is proof positive that there is a serious problem with the Dealership's Customer Focus - the vehicle that I returned was leased at Hawthorne Chevrolet - rudeness on the part of your Sales Manager should not be defended, it should be apologized for, any "reasonable customer reading" the review can easily determine for themselves that they would be better served by taking their business elsewhere as I plan to do. I want to thank the person who wrote the Dealer's response for proving my case.
