Totally understand frustration when a basically new vehicle has problems. That said, the unit was not bought from our dealership and was missing a $7.00 nut on the wiring harness. We had two hour of labor involved to find out this issue and replace the missing nut in order to fix the Jeep. Chrysler will not run this under warranty since there was not a failure of a part, but it was simply missing. That said, we did discount our labor by 50% for a total bill of 107.56. I have reached out to Ed twice as we still do understand his frustration and would like to make him feel better about his Jeep and our dealership.

Ed; I totally understand your frustration - in fact, I actually agree with you. Unfortunately, I do not set the Chrysler's warranty policy nor am I able to change it. In fact, I have owned a Ford dealership and currently a GM dealership and neither one of them would cover this repair either due to non failure of a part. Again, I do agree with you and I do get where your coming from. I would, however, ask that you appreciate that our entire team of employee's works very hard for good customer satisfaction and quality reviews on social media. Your review, I feel, should be directed at Chrysler and not our team who does not set the policy. In your particular case I did compensate a mechanic for two hours labor to find the problem. That technician makes 28.00 per hour for a total paid to him of 56.00 before I count the part. That said, I would like to come to a solution that would allow for you to feel compelled to change or alter your review on behalf of all of our employee's. I am certainly willing to refund you 60.00 if you are willing to do so. I would hope that you feel this is fair. Again, feel free to call me on my cell phone at 231-414-5168 if you like. Also, I would certainly like to be your servicing dealer and hope that you would feel comfortable stopping in some time and visit. I feel this way regardless of the outcome. Life is short and I wish you well!

Ed; If you would have bought this vehicle from me I probably would not have charged you anything for the repair. The reason for this would be: I would have felt bad selling you a vehicle with a missing part, and since I would have made money from selling the unit, I would have most likely not charged you. Let me ask you, did you give the dealership you bought it from a poor review for selling you a unit with missing parts? Or did you ask them to refund you the 107.00? While they did not probably realize it, they were the ones that made the money from selling it. All this said, I will refund you all of your money - even though I feel like we were quite fair in discounting the repair by 50% already. Chrysler will not pay us nor did we sell the unit, that said, my team works diligently for good reviews and I feel badly for them that we would get a poor review for something like this. Again, I am willing to refund you the 107.56 if the review is changed to reflect this. Let me know. Mark Schuiteman

Mark The dealer i got it from only changed the oil. The previous owner did nother to the car. It had 2400 miles when i bought. I drove it about 800 miles before it started acting up. I think if was probably loose or missed from the factory and should be covered on the warrenty. Ed Buchner

Mark Thanks for your response and willingness to work with me. I have bought at least 4 vehicles from DS over the years and Ed in service has always taken good care of me. My question is, if I would of bought this jeep new from you and returned it 3400 miles would I still had to pay for this repair? Service told me to fix it right it would of cost over $500 so I agreed to allowing them to fix it with a seven dollar nut. I feel I have already compromised by allowing a cheaper repair. Like you, I would like to remain a customer with DS. Thank you! Ed Buchner
