We actually never thought we would have a dealership we would want to do continued business with – but Wilde Honda/salesman Michael Malmsbury has changed all that. We were vacationing in Florida for a few weeks, leaving one week to find either a used Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla S. We thought – no problem, right? We looked by owner (first choice) and dealerships, finding neither vehicle suitable to our specs. Went online to Sarasota dealerships and came across a Honda Civic that sounded like a possibility. Gave a call just before closing, spoke with Michael and he gave us a history check on the vehicle over the phone, did a visual cosmetic inspection of the car to our verbal specs and called us back with that. Made an appointment first thing the next morning to see the car, it was just as Michael described. Michael treated us in a very personal manner, really wanting to work for us, and was able to secure the deal we offered. The vehicle had some minor issues (major to us, we know we are particular about our vehicles) and they had everything done for us the very next day. Instead I met Michael Malmsbury who took the time to show me a few things about the Honda CR-V. He explained how to access the dealer web site and what things to include in my email. The next day during regular business hours he showed me the CR-V and we test drove it. Now communication skills and customer service are what make the deal, products sell themselves and Honda definitely has the product. Michael’s skills and patience were outstanding. My wife had not seen the CR-V, so when she came to test drive the SUV. He took the time with my wife to explain features and minor things that sometimes get overlooked. He made her feel comfortable and with no sales pressure. He was understanding and very knowledgeable. He sold his product and used the strength of Honda not the negative salesmanship of badmouthing another product. The experience at Wilde Honda was enjoyable and professional. We were looking for a Pontiac Grand Am. him, never met him before 2/2/12. So here's my story. Live in Lehigh Acres about 90 miles from Sarasota, Fl. We were looking for a Pontiac Grand Am. My wife has been driving Grand Am's for 17 years and we've had such good success with them. We looked all over Florida on the internet. We even went to Fort Lauderdale for what looked like a good deal, what a piece of junk. So, we found a 2004 Grand Am on the internet at Wilde Honda. I called and Michael answered. He said the car was at rock bottom and unfortunately he couldn't reduce it any further, so if I needed a lower price not to waste my time. I told him the price was good, but didn't want to drive 90 miles and found out it was just sold. He checked with his manager and told me he could hold it with a $500 deposit, which I gladly did. I went to the bank, drove to Sarasota and met Michael. When we went out to look at the car it was a 2 door. (Now, that was like the 3rd line in the ad, and both my wife and I looked at the ad and the pictures several times). We felt pretty stupid, and blind! We really needed a 4 door. I told Colleen to drive it anyway and see how it rides. While driving it I asked her, do you like the ride, No. Do you like the power, (or lack thereof), No. Do you like the handling, No. Do you like the feel of the seats, No. Then you don't want a Grand Am, yes I do! We're upset and tired. Michael says, "I have another car, with about the same mileage, very nice and only a little more if you want to look at it, It's a Buick Regal. My wife says, "No, it's an old person's car. So, we looked at it and it was beautiful! Flawless paint, back seat looked like it was never sat in. My wife drove it and said it was like driving her couch! It handles sporty and plenty of power. Still not a Grand Am, but my wife decided to get it and she's really happy with it! I only had enough for the Grand Am and Michael negotiated down to that price. They were super fast about the paperwork. It literally took longer to get my insurance transferred from California to Florida insurance than it took to get the dealer paperwork done! These folks are nice, responsive, honest, fair, and listen. Everything you always wanted in a car dealership, but never got. I mean I've never got this kind of service. Seriously, if you buy somewhere else, you probably will pay too much, get a car in worse shape, and for sure you won't be treated as well. More
