The ordering process was very easy and the time from factory to delivery was quick. Upon delivery if my car, I was given a 30-45 minute course on all the features if my car, which was fantastic! My husband and I have been thinking about how to go about this review for a few days. Honestly, we just had terrible experience and that’s all there is to it. I think a lot of it is because we wanted to do a this review for a few days. Honestly, we just had terrible experience and that’s all there is to it. I think a lot of it is because we wanted to do as much as we could online prior to going in for the car, and we had a trade-in, which is essentially why the deal fell apart. This dealership had the car we really wanted, while everyone else has been sold-out/lacking inventory. We had our own outside financing and a great rate. The deal was essentially complete, we even had insurance on the vehicle for a couple days prior to the scheduled pick-up, because our financier needed that in order to issue the check. Money is was down, financing was complete, purchase order had been written up and signed, etc.. We just had to physically hand over the check, sign a few dealership papers and exchange the new vehicle with our trade-in. At the last minute, literally the evening before we were supposed to exchange the next day, they decided our trade-in wasn’t worth what they initially quoted, and wanted more money from us. The initial quote and what was included in the purchase order for the trade was a little higher than the KBB value. What they wanted to offer instead at the last minute, was significantly less than the KBB value. We disagreed and suggested the KBB value. They still wanted to give us less. We mentioned writing a review. Then, one of the supervisors, but not the GM, called us a bit later and he and my husband agreed on a price in the middle, which would still require us putting down more than we wanted, but we were willing. THEN, my husband gets a call that Billy, the GM, has said the deal is completely off. My husband has since been unable to speak with Billy himself for any additional explanation. My best guess is that they felt threatened by the suggestion of us giving them a poor review and didn’t like that; that we weren’t using any of their financiers; and that they knew they weren’t going to have any issue selling that car to someone else, so they just didn’t care about us/our business. My husband and I both work in public service. If we treated people in our line of work the way these people treated us, we probably wouldn’t have jobs. It’s just super disheartening. I would hope the communication and up-front honesty would be more present for people who are physically there in the dealership, but it was absent for us. The communication, mainly, was just so awful. Everything about the experience reminded us why we distrust car sales people so much, and dread ever having to step foot in a dealership. Michele Petro, in sales, and the GM, Billy Sattler, probably dislike us as much as we dislike them. Even so, I don’t want or need this review to cause bad business for them, I just want them to change so that future clients don’t have to be led-on and then disrespected/ made as miserable as we were. It was a mess and a huge waste of time and effort trying to get everything together for them. If you decide after reading this review to just stay away from Annapolis Subaru, I do recommend Dulles Subaru in Leesburg, VA. We were lucky enough to go on to have a much better experience with them and would definitely recommend them. Happy car buying! More
