I was really disappointed with my experience at Rudy Luther Toyota. I initially reached out about a vehicle that was listed as “in transit” with no estimated arrival date. When I called, I was told i Luther Toyota. I initially reached out about a vehicle that was listed as “in transit” with no estimated arrival date. When I called, I was told it was expected to arrive within a day or two and would need to go through its inspection before it would be available for sale. Since I was going to be out of town for a couple of days anyway, that timeline worked perfectly, so we scheduled an appointment for three days later to come see the vehicle. About two hours before my scheduled appointment, I received a call telling me the vehicle had “sold as soon as it got there.” That was extremely frustrating because when I first called, I was ready to buy the vehicle if it was available. At no point was I offered the opportunity to place a deposit or reserve it, even though I had already expressed serious interest and had an appointment scheduled. I was then told they had other examples of the same model in stock and that I should still come in. After making the trip, I found out the available vehicles were roughly 35% more expensive than the one I had originally inquired about. I was told the price difference was due to higher trim levels, but that’s beside the point—I wasn’t shopping for a more expensive vehicle. I wanted the one I had scheduled an appointment to purchase. To make matters worse, the trade-in appraisal on my vehicle came in a couple thousand dollars lower than I felt was fair. I may have been willing to work through that if everything else had gone smoothly, but after having the vehicle sold before my scheduled appointment, it just left a bad taste in my mouth. The Luther name has always carried a reputation for honesty and trust, which is one of the reasons I chose to shop here. Unfortunately, this experience didn’t live up to those expectations, and I left feeling disappointed. More
