Unfortunately, unlike other five star reviews, my experience was different. I had an Unethical experience with Pete Hankins. I called Pete about a 2014 Range Rover and we agreed to a purchase price. experience was different. I had an Unethical experience with Pete Hankins. I called Pete about a 2014 Range Rover and we agreed to a purchase price. Deposit was made and I requested a BOS. Pete said that he doesn’t do written BOS until he confirmed the sale. When i received the BOS, I noticed that the purchase price had increased and the listing price on the website had increased. When I contacted Pete, he said that the price had not changed and that the vehicle was listed as stated on the BOS. Little did Pete know was that I took a screen shot of the car on their website the same day that I placed my deposit. Pete initially disagreed with me and told me to send him the screen shot- which I did and he still said that the vehicle price was never changed and questioned the actual listing from DLR website. After being caught dead to rights, he refunded me the vehicle price difference. My other bad experience was the vehicle title. I was an out of state buyer and I was having the vehicle shipped to me. Upon receiving my certified check, I was told by Pete that the title would be mailed to me at the end of the week.- He lied!! When I called to see where the title was, he said that it was sent to my credit union. When I asked him why, he said it was a Texas law. to the contrary, it is NOT a Texas law. He was obligated to send the title to me and that once I got the car registered and insured at my local motor vehicle, my local motor vehicle would send the title to my credit union. That is protocol for when you buy a car out of state the the dealer isn’t registering the car. He was belligerent and attempted to insult my intelligence about car buying experience. If he only knew! To compound the problem, my title was sent to the wrong place which led to another two weeks before I actually received the title. The upside-the car was as advertised and drives as it should. More
