It was fixed by the Honda dealership and respectable body shop. No biggie they didn't want a great car that i drove there 200 miles 3 and a half hours to buy a truck that we made a deal over emails. They tried to charge me for accessories on a used vehicle that I didn't ask for or want. Finally got them to take them off the price. Before arriving at the dealership, half hour away from the dealership, we got a phone call from Robert saying the truck had a check engine light on and it was being pulled into the service center. Was told it would be about a half hour job to fix the issue. Never told what the issue was. That was the only good communication I received, it's a used vehicle, things happen. We arrived at the dealership and went and found Robert. We had our own financing done. He said the truck was still in the back. First thing they wanted was my check for the truck, they couldn't even remember what price we agreed upon. I had to show them the purchase agreement. To add to it Robert called while we were driving there wanting pictures of my license. They were trying to get all the paperwork ready so we would just give them the check. He asked for the check, then when I said not yet he wanted to see it to verify the amount on it. I was not going to hand over a check without seeing or driving the vehicle. If i handed it over then I'm stuck with a non-running truck. After about 15-20 minutes he finally said we could go look at it if we wanted. We went back to the back to look at it. The truck was in good condition just wasn't running. The tech said he needed to change a fuel injector out, he said that would be about an hour and half job. So, Robert said we should go do something and he will text us when it's done. About an hour later he texted and said it would be done in about 20 minutes. Went back after the 20 minutes and he said the tech was putting on the engine cover. 15 minutes later he checks on it and we are told he is still putting on the cover. This cover only takes a minute to put on. After an hour and a half waiting after they told us it would be ready, and they kept coming to us telling us it was just going to be a few more minutes. They had me go to the back and now the service manager is there, called in I'm assuming because he was in sweatpants and sweatshirt. He tells me it needs a new intake gasket. I was never told why they took the intake off for a fuel injector that sits in a fuel rail on the top of the motor. They then tell me they replaced 2 injectors and O-rings. We are still waiting at Roberts desk, and we tried to get a Diet Coke from the vending machine because we haven't been offered anything yet. The vending machine wouldn't work, and Robert tried it too. While doing this my girlfriend could hear the truck start up and die several times. While we were sitting there hearing it try to run the sales manager comes over and brings us the temporary tags. He then asks me to go into the finance office to sign papers. We looked at him and said we haven't even drove the truck or heard it run. He said Oh I thought you had. We said we have been sitting here and you knew the truck was in the back the whole time. That was the last lie we was going to listen to. We went back to the back to tell them we were leaving, and they started the truck and he sound horrible like it was running on 2 cylinders. I said we were leaving because there was no time frame on fixing it and no offer to make it right for our time. We had been there for almost 4 hours. This deal should have been done within an hour, that's including the test drive. We have bought several cars before this way; we always bring our own financing. It's a lot easier that way. I was told sorry, but it was not meant by Robert. We leave and go to dinner. I texted Robert at dinner and told him if they wanted to deliver it, I would still buy it. That way I know it would run ok to make the 200-mile trip to my address. Robert calls me about an hour and half later saying it was done and ready to go. I asked what they would do for us and his response after calling me back was, the trucks gas is very low so we will fill it up. Thats a given that it should have been filled up anyway. So that was an insult to us. I asked earlier if they had a hitch for the truck because it was missing it. The truck had the tow package but no hitch. Could have offered to put one on. There was no offer to pay for our gas in our car or pay for our dinner for the inconvenience. Robert put the service manager on the phone, and he told me they had to change out another fuel injector and all 8 O-rings. I asked again what they would do for us, and we were put on hold. I hung up and no call back or anything. 6 days later I still have never heard from them. The truck is still available. More
