I had such a positive and efficient experience with BMW SLO. JT was very professional and responsive, and he made me a great lease deal with zero sneaky add ons like many dealers. Scott Boulanger is by far the most useless and unprofessional Sales Manager I’ve ever encountered in my entire car-shopping experience. The fact that he’s been with BMW for over 20 years makes his unprofessional Sales Manager I’ve ever encountered in my entire car-shopping experience. The fact that he’s been with BMW for over 20 years makes his behavior even more disappointing, you’d expect that level of experience to come with professionalism, but in his case, it seems to have produced only arrogance and complete disinterest. I visited the dealership to look at a car that has been sitting on the lot for over 60 days. with all the time on their hand, the vehicle was in terrible shape. The paint was so rough that orange peel was visible across the panels, the headrest stitching was torn open exposing the yellow foam underneath, and the vent blade was broken. If these are the issues I can spot during a simple visual inspection, I can only imagine what other problems are hiding beneath the surface. Still, I was willing to overlook these flaws because I genuinely liked the car and was prepared to move forward. But Scott Boulanger completely ruined that possibility. Before I left, I politely asked if he wanted to hear about the defects I discovered. His response? “Only if you’re buying the car.” That one sentence told me everything I needed to know about his attitude, dismissive, unprofessional, and utterly lacking in customer respect. At that moment, I was a serious buyer, but his arrogance made it impossible to trust either him or the dealership. If this is the standard of leadership BMW allows from a sales manager with two decades of experience, it’s a disgrace to the brand and a warning to anyone expecting integrity, service, or basic decency here. Ultimate Driving Machine"? More like the ultimate hunk of junk. I kept telling my young adult son how BMW was the ultimate driving machine, and he said, "I think we should get More like the ultimate hunk of junk. I kept telling my young adult son how BMW was the ultimate driving machine, and he said, "I think we should get a Mazda." I told him, "you haven't driven until you've driven a BMW." Boy was I wrong! This has been the worst car-buying experience of my life and I've owned three Mercedes, two BMWs (this being my second), two Jeeps, an Acura, and a Range Rover. I spent a year researching and trying to find a quality, safe vehicle to share with my son, and this turned out to be the worst thing that could have happened. He said right away, "it drives like xxxx." Even after taking it back twice , being dismissed "that's how X Drive drives " and being without a car for a week so they could "make repairs," nothing was fixed. Some young kids at a local tire and repair shop were able to point out serious issues within minutes things the dealership ignored. And my son was right it still drives like xxxx. When I asked what they were going to do, their idea of "resolving" the situation was trying to sell me an even more expensive piece of junk and take more of my money instead of fixing the car I just bought. Now I'm stuck with an unsafe, undrivable vehicle. BMW of San Luis Obispo does not operate with integrity. The used car department is careless, corners are cut, and vehicles are not properly vetted. Customers are left with unsafe, overpriced cars that should never have left the lot. Profit is clearly prioritized over safety and transparency. On top of that, they don't respect people's time. I've spent hours upon hours dealing with them, only to miss an annual family vacation because of this mess. Most importantly, the fact that this dealership and its personnel have no regard for the safety of the people they sell cars to is completely outrageous and I expected much, much more from a BMW dealer. Shop elsewhere your money, your time, and your safety are worth more than what you'll get here. More

They are more than willing to send you and your family off in an unsafe car with no shame, leaving buyers in a devastating, dangerous, and costly position. The only ones who win here are the dealership, while customers are left stuck with unsafe, undrivable cars or forced to pay for expensive repairs. Their used car practices should be investigated. Don’t make the same mistake I did — please shop elsewhere. More

I had no idea that buying a high end car could be this easy. Dealerships usually mess up a corporate purchase, which mine was. Not BMW of SLO. So very appreciative of their respect for my time. Terrible experience from a dealership that operates nothing like what you'd expect from the BMW brand. After leasing my vehicle, I canceled a protection plan well within the 30-day window and was told nothing like what you'd expect from the BMW brand. After leasing my vehicle, I canceled a protection plan well within the 30-day window and was told I’d receive a “full refund.” Now I’m being told tax and finance charges won’t be refunded, even though the amount was rolled into the lease—not handled as a separate item. No explanation, just silence. I’ve sent over ten emails to both the finance department and the general manager, with almost no real response—just a few vague, one-line replies that don’t answer any of my questions. Phone calls go unanswered too. It took nearly 3 weeks for them to pay off my trade-in, during which I had to make another payment and was charged more tax and APR on a vehicle they already sold. It’s been over a month and I still haven’t received registration paperwork or permanent plates—just a temp tag with no supporting documents. When I picked up the vehicle, it was only half charged—I had to stop to recharge on the way home. That might seem minor, but it reflects the overall carelessness and lack of professionalism. I leased another BMW from a different dealership two weeks later, and the experience there couldn’t have been more different—organized, responsive, and transparent. This dealership's follow-through and business practices raise serious concerns. More
