Terrible experience- Rude treatment! Decided to buy a Forester Premium through Costco. Dealt with Jason and was pleased with that part of the process. Price was reasonable so I moved for Decided to buy a Forester Premium through Costco. Dealt with Jason and was pleased with that part of the process. Price was reasonable so I moved forward with purchase. Jason said they might want to wait 1-2 days to pick up car even with a cashier's check, but would probably waive it. (Jason was on vacation when I went to "finalize" the deal). Later that day I came back to pick up the vehicle with a cashier's check drawn on my Wells Fargo Bank in Carlsbad. Not a personal check, but a cashier's check. They then informed me that I had 3 option in purchasing. 1) Wait 8-10 days to pick up the car - even though a cashier's check clears in 24 hours. 2) Unlock my credit report so they can view it (It is locked due to a major breach that impacted me) and since I was paying cash I saw NO reason to allow them access- why risk another breach. 3) Bring them $30,000 in "cash". Seth was the manager we dealt with. He was arrogant, condescending, and rude. According to him a cashier's check is just a piece of worthless paper and unless he accesses your credit file, you could be a crook for all he knows. Terrible dealership! Would NEVER deal with them. Too many other options. More
