Mr. Vickers unfort this is not true. The tint is done here on our premises and the pinstripe is a painted stripe that's put on by hand. The running boards you're referring to from parts department was not including labor, I know Blake has already explained this to you several times. As far as taking something down off the website I'm a little confused by that. That is correct, when a car sells it drops from our website because it's no longer available. I know you spoke to Blake just yesterday and when you were here but if you'd like to speak to me I'd be more than happy to try to help. Thank you for your business as well.

Blake did call, said he thought I agreed before I left that I wouldn’t leave a bad review, No Sir!!, never said that. However he did tell me after my son-in-law said he would write a review because of the inflated prices, at which point he (Blake) told me he didn’t know if he would sell us this vehicle if we were going to write a bad review. Just for clarification it was Blake, my son-in-law, my wife and myself at the desk when we were told that. I have no issue with the Toyota Brand, it’s a a well made reliable vehicle, that said, the following is in response to the above: The front driver and passenger side windows do appear to be tinted. So they were either done at the dealership or somewhere off-site, so they probably were not tinted at the factory. (Yep I was wrong on that one). Did I request them to be tinted when I ordered the vehicle? no. Nor did I request the “hand painted pin stripes” (your words printed on the sales order). I will agree they were put on by hand or by machine, however, they are not by any stretch of the imagination “hand painted pin-stripes”. A sticker with stripes or just plain pin-stripes would be a better choice of words. If I had walked in looking to purchase a vehicle and saw that on the window then I could decide then if I wanted to purchase the vehicle or not. However this vehicle was requested or ordered and done with a deposit, I then received a generic stock photo with the normal MSRP. Only when I finally received the purchase order via email/texts (after asking for three days, it got to be Friday and we were leaving that afternoon to travel to Edisto Beach, and I explained to the salesman that I had to have it by 2 so I could take it to my financial institute) I found the extra add ons. I did call back immediately to speak with the salesman. Basically I was told they put those pin-stripes and tint on all their vehicles and it’s take it or leave it. Since they were the only dealership that could get this particular vehicle, I took the deal. (I accept that was my choice to take or leave. But in no way does that say I accept or appreciate them jacking up the price by $798.00 for $150.00 worth of “upgrades”the way they did.). As for the running boards….my comments stand. Whoever wrote the response for Fred Anderson Toyota, the purchase order I was sent had a particular vin.., when I got the first P.O., it had the price of $995 for the running boards (along with the “hand painted pin-stripes” and tinted windows $399.00 each,) I immediately called back as stated earlier, complained about the stripes and windows, then went on to discuss the price of the predator running boards. Since I had asked them to be added, I simply asked them to disregard that request and leave them off. The second P.O. was sent to my financial institute, it had that same vin as before, everything the same, just minus the $995. for the boards. The cashiers check even had that particular VIN printed into the comment section. When we arrived at our appointment time it was fine, no salesman bum rush that you see at other dealerships, walked in, saw numerous salesmen and customers walking/talking etc. went to the front counter and asked for our particular salesman and he arrived in just a few minutes. That was a relief for sure, no issues with that. Was shown a vehicle, salesman showed the wife all the features and how to operate it. While walking in I just happen to look at the VIN, it’s a bad habit I have. I noticed the numbers were not the same as my paperwork. My son-in-law, went to their web-site and pulled up their 4 Runners that they had listed, found the one that matched our paperwork along with pictures. This is paperwork they sent me, not something I copied from a site and picked the wrong vehicle. On their web-site, with the VIN that the salesman had with my name at his desk, showed it had a set of predator running boards added for $689. After we saw that, we asked if we could get that price for the boards. After all, they quoted $995. for the same thing just a day earlier. That’s when things went down hill for sure. This is also where the statements were made about not selling us the vehicle if my son-in-law was going to write a bad review. First it was labor costs, then it was done at the port and it gets done cheaper there, etc. We showed them on our phone their own website with their price on the vehicle that was on my paperwork and they acted like I was wrong and that my papers didn’t show that. All I asked was to get the boards at the price they advertised on the vehicle that I was supposed to purchase. Talked to the salesman and “Blake” who basically told me that if I bought them there and had them installed, it would be the $995. When I pulled their site back up just a few minuets later, that vehicle had been taken down/off. The timing of it being taken down was suspect at best. We asked several times how much the boards were and how much the labor was with no response. Finally, my son-in-law got the information from the salesman after he started walking towards the parts counter. That price was $579. So I can only assume that the labor on such an install was $363.89 ($995-$579-$52.11tax=$363.89. I’m not a skilled mechanic like those at Fred Anderson by no means. Plus I don’t have the range of tools or lifts needed to take on such a major install. However including taking the boards out of their wrappings (and they were well wrapped for sure, nothing was scratching those babies), it took maybe 15/20 minutes to install both. So either they (Fred Anderson Toyota) inflates the time needed or they (Toyota) has extremely high job rates that Fred Anderson goes by to price predetermined jobs. Or possibly they got caught trying to jack up the price of a requested install to make a few extra bucks, I just don’t know. I will go to another dealership or two to find out the answer to this question Seriously, a dealership the size of Fred Anderson Toyota should not have to put high priced, unwanted add ons on their vehicle to make money. A Toyota sells itself, name and reputation is everything. I understand times are tough with vehicle inventories at dealerships, that’s why I agreed to pay the MSRP price. (I have never paid MSRP in my life, always less). I knew I was overpaying when I walked in the door, I had already accepted that. I should have walked, but my wife wanted that particular color and model so I took the $798.00 loss, just thankful it wasn’t $363.89 more. If you would like to see any of the above stated information, ie: purchase orders, receipts, stock photos, pictures etc, feel free to ask…. As to my ratings, Shannon was a 5 no doubt, she did what she said she would do. I liked the salesman, he was probably doing what he was told to do. But when you show up with your finances already set, not that they didn’t try mind you, they tend to be a little chapped, plus the way I was treated after I confronted them about the inflated prices,(my opinion) So that’s how I came to my ratings. Felt like I was treated like they didn’t care, they had the vehicle and I didn’t, they were not very nice I’ll just say. I purchased a Jeep Wrangler from a dealership in Alexandria Va, all via texts/email and had a wonderful experience. (No add ons)I recorded comments on this same website. Ourisman Jeep! Check it out! This rating is from my experience from this dealership the last couple weeks of May 2021. & have not had any dealings with the service department to rate them After all, I would hate to have someone say I wasn’t telling the truth…again (your words)
