We dropped the car off on a Thursday to see exactly what needed to be fixed. Days go by, a week goes by and no one has even LOOKED at the car yet. It’s just been sitting for over a week. And you can absolutely FORGET getting an sort of update. Even the wild goose chase of phone calls you’ll make will lead you nowhere. When I finally do get ahold my advisor I’m told they haven’t looked at the car yet and, “it could be a situation where we get the car up there and there’s no issue at all”. Why would you even have my car right now if there’s no issue?? After getting ahold of the service manager, we’re told a completely different story that they looked at the car the day after they got it, and we’re waiting to hear if we were going through insurance or not to proceed. No one ONCE asked us this nor told us it was the reason for the hold up until going up the chain of command. Two weeks later after running “diagnostic” and $1300 my tire rod is replaced and I can finally pick the car up. When I get there I ask if I can take the car around the parking lot before paying to make sure it’s driving correctly. They then look at me like I have 3 heads and say “no one’s ever asked me that,” $1300 and I’m not supposed to make sure it drives first? In the lap around the parking lot everything seems fine until it starts making a noise a couple days later. I drop the car off to them AGAIN and they have it about 3 hours and can’t hear any noise, so I need to make a 3rd appointment to come back and ride with the technician. The day I originally tried to bring the car back for the 3rd time I called 5 separate times trying to see if the technician was in, and left a voicemail for my advisor and never once got a call back. One of those 5 calls I somehow got put through to sales, who tell me if the cars making a noise i should just trade it in! My year 1 old vehicle I should trade in because it’s making a noise. The following day I finally get ahold of someone and the technician hears the noise now at my 3rd appointment, so I need to bring it in for a 4th appointment so they can see why it’s making the grinding noise. I made the appointment for 8 AM, get a text confirmation for my 8:40 AM Appointment, but neither detail matters because they didn’t look at it until noon. Once again I go through my day of the goose chase trying to get any update, and finally get one at 4:30 pm. And SURPRISE they missed the first time they had the car for 2 weeks that additionally my wheel is bent, and I need new wheel bearings. They confidently let me leave the dealership like that and drive that vehicle for weeks at this point. Despite supposedly running diagnostic the first time. This slipped past them because “you can’t tell it’s bent just looking at it, it’s once you get the wheel off” I ask how the replaced my tire rod without taking the wheel off, “oh no we took it off”. So that’ll just be $2500 more for the wheel, and they aren’t sure if that’s the ONLY reason the cars making a noise, once we fix this we may find even more issues. They have no pride in their work, no timeline for completion on anything, and you may or may not leave with a safe operating vehicle. More

However, even the gentlemen that had responded to my online inquiry ultimately admitted that some of the other salesman had just “gone missing”. The experience got worse after a test drive. We were reassigned to another salesman that poured the cars sales 101 handbook on us thick. The tactics were so intentionally manipulative and disingenuous that it was obvious and somewhat insulting. We were taken to his office while our car keys were held hostage. They were supposed to appraise our car for a trade in, they hadn’t done so. We waited alone there for 20 minutes before deciding to just reach back out to them (we had somewhere to be). We went searching for our salesman and found many of them huddled up in an office, presumably the sales manager’s office. My wife politely asked one of them walking out of that office for our salesman. She was told it would be just a moment and “you’ll need to wait”. That was the final straw, we asked for our car key and left with angry, darting glances from the salesman and another person held up in the room. We later received a call with the value of our trade in. We were told was based on KBB. However, it was $3K less than the lowest KBB trade in value. All in all, I’d say they are the typical dealership at drives the stereotypes. They had a really good price on a used vehicle, but their business operations seemed less than optimal and overall practices questionable. More

I had been interested in buying a new Palisade Limited for several months and had called on 5 dealers within 70 miles of my home in search of a particular color and vehicle. I received an email from Sim T for several months and had called on 5 dealers within 70 miles of my home in search of a particular color and vehicle. I received an email from Sim Thomas at Murfreesboro Hyundai letting me know a vehicle which matched what I was seeking had arrived on their lot that day. I responded to the email and told Sim I'd arrive the following day at noon, prepared to trade-in my Ford Expedition for the Palisade Limited. I arrived at 12:15 and left the dealership at 4:15....after a test drive, negotiation, contract signing and a walk through on all of the features on the vehicle. I also met with Josh Miller, the GM of sales and with Riley Groves in the Finance area. Both of these gentlemen and Sim were professional and extremely helpful in closing a deal and completing the transaction. I drove home, delighted with my purchase, very satisfied with the service I had received at Murfreesboro Hyundai and anxious for my wife to take a ride in the Palisade. I highly recommend Murfreesboro Hyundai and Sim Thomas. The support team there also appears to be a big plus and a reason the dealership is so highly rated on this website. I'll be in the market for another vehicle next year and I'll gladly give Murfreesboro Hyundai, Sim and the management team first crack at earning my repeat business. Thanks guys!!!
