Interestingly the Jetta with 150 HP is the same as my old 1998 Audi A4, Audi in 5th gear at 3000 rpm traveled at 68 mph whereas the 2019 Jetta a 150 HP goes 70 mph at 3000 rpm. Since the new Jetta is a 6 speed, the gears being closer ratios, gives the car a feeling of quicker acceleration. Will check the 40 mpg claim on my next trip to Laguna Seca raceway or L.A.
